1. Provide technical assistance on creating more immersive learning dynamics in
the classroom.
2. Familiarize teachers with classroom-friendly features to support classroom
management and assessment of learning; and
3. Build a community of educators and student leaders who will continue to
promote and support game-based learning for exploration, storytelling, and digital
learning.
Additionally, may we request that the expenses during the activity be changed
against the school MOOE.
Attached is the LAC Session Proposal. We are anticipating a favourable response on

LAC SESSION PROPOSAL

I. LAC SESSION TITLE:
PLAY, CRAFT, AND LEARN: SCHOOL LEARNING ACTION CELL ON THE
IMPLEMENTATION OF GAME-BASED LEARNING AND ASSESSMENT ON
STUDENT LEARNING TOWARDS THE DEVELOPMENT OF 21st CENTURY
SKILLS

II. DESCRIPTION OF THE LAC SESSION & LEGAL BASIS

Children who were born between 1997 and 2012 are considered members
of the GenZ generation. According to Pew Research Center, GenZ is much more
immersed in the digital world and grew up in the mobile and digital media era
(2019). One very prominent piece of information is their low attention span,
they bring the world right at their fingertips, along with multiple choices. As
educators there is a need to understand that GenZ wants to tackle challenges
in a fully immersive environment that lets them conduct their own research,
make decisions, and act. To be one with GenZ in a classroom setting educators
must have the ability to design learning opportunities that develop skills
needed by the students in today’s generation. The Department of Education
issued OUA MEMO 00-0421-0067 to explore sustainable approaches to innovate
teaching and learning through the introduction of Minecraft Education Edition
as Game-Based Learning platform. It aims to promote creativity, collaboration
and problem-solving in an immersive digital environment as part of the
development of the 21st century skills. OUA MEMO 00-0222-0097 dated
February 2022, selected the Tanauan School of Craftsmanship and Home
Industries as one of the Pilot Schools for the mobile version of Minecraft
Education as part of the initiative to promote Game-Based Leaning for schools.
III. OBJECTIVES
1. Create more immersive learning dynamics in the classroom
2. Familiarize teachers with classroom-friendly features to support classroom
management and formative assessment; and
3. Build a community of educators and student leaders who will continue to
promote and support game-based learning for exploration, storytelling, and digital
learning.
