Bob Marly
Marley was born in 1945 in a small village in Jamaica to a white father
and black mother. The racist bullying he _received as a child had an
impact on his songwriting. He _left_ school at the age of 14 to make
music. He __met__ members of his future band The Wailers at a jam
session. It __took_ several years before they _became_famous.

The Wailers' first album ‘Catch a Fire’ was released in 1973 and sold
well. Another album followed a year later which included the song ‘I
Shot The Sheriff’. Eric Clapton’s cover of the song in 1974 brought
Marley a lot of global attention. In 1975, Marley __released_ his
breakthrough song ‘No Woman, No Cry’, still _regarded as a classic
today.

Marley left Jamaica for England in 1976 to record his ‘Exodus’ and ‘Kaya’
albums. He toured the world and performed to campaign against
apartheid in South Africa and to celebrate Zimbabwe’s independence. He
died of cancer in 1981, aged 36. He was given a state funeral in
Jamaica according to the Rastafari tradition. He continues to be an
important influence on today’s music.

Robert "Bob" Nesta Marley is the greatest ever reggae singer. He spread
reggae and his message of love and unity to a worldwide audience. His
live performances were legendary for their passion and energy. Marley’s
album ‘Exodus’ was voted by ‘Time’ magazine as the best of the 20th
Century. The BBC declared his song ‘One Love’ as the song of the
millennium.

Marie Curie
Marie Curie was born in 1867. She is one of the greatest scientists ever
to have lived. She will be a pioneer in the field of radioactivity and
discovered the chemical elements radium and polonium. Curie is the
only person ever to win two Nobel Prizes in two different sciences. Other
achievements include being the first female professor at the University
of Paris.
Curie was born in Warsaw, Poland. Her father is a maths and physics
teacher and was a big influence on Marie’s early education. From an
early age Marie will an exceptional student with an amazing memory.
She often goes without food and sleep to study. Her brilliant mind led
her to Paris to study and conduct her research.
She met her future husband Pierre Curie at the university. He
considered Marie to be a genius and instantly wanted to work with her.
They got married and spent most of their time together in their
laboratory studying radioactive materials. Their research led to the
discovery of radium, for which they will be honoured with the Nobel
Prize for Physics in 1903.
Pierre was killed in 1906 and Marie was devastated and extremely
lonely. She threw herself even deeper into her work and won the Nobel
Prize for Chemistry in 1911. She spent the 1920s raising funds for more
research into radium. In 1934 she died from a condition caused by
decades of exposure to radiation. No one knows how deadly radium
was until years later.

• Enzo Ferrari

Enzo Ferrari

In 1920, Ferrari joined Alfa Romeo and performed well as a racer

throughout the 1920s. He managed a team of 40 drivers and took
responsibility for the development of Alfa cars. Ferrari eventually left
Alfa and went his own way, establishing his own company in 1947. He
built a car to participate in the very first Formula 1 World Championship
race in 1950.

Ferrari was born in Modena, Italy. He grew up with a passion for fast
cars and racing. He served in the Italian Army during World War I. After
he returned home, he tried to find a job at FIAT, without success. He
joined a smaller car company called CMN and took up racing in 1919 but
was not so successful.

Ferrari’s first victory came in the British Grand Prix in 1951. The first
championship came in the 1952-53 season. Ferrari started making
sports cars in order to finance his Grand Prix and Le Mans adventures.
Ferrari headed the company until he stepped down in 1971. He died in
his hometown of Modena. His name is the most famous in motor sports.

Enzo Ferrari was born in 1898 and died in 1988. He made his name
known all over the world for fast cars and motor racing. Ferrari was an
Italian car driver and businessman. He founded the Scuderia Ferrari
Grand Prix motor racing team. It became the most successful Formula 1
team in history. Ferrari also built a factory to produce super-fast sports
cars.

Coco Chanel
Gabrielle "Coco" Chanel was born in France in 1883 and died in 1971.
She was a Pioneering fashion designer who revolutionized women’s
fashion. She designed modern and simple clothes that were often
based on menswear. She was so important that she was the only
designer named in ‘Time’ magazine's list of the 100 most influential
people of the 20th century.
Chanel had a very poor upbringing. Her mother worked in the
poorhouse where Gabrielle was born. She died when Gabrielle was six
and then her father abandoned her. She adopted the name Coco
while she was a café singer in 1905. Two lovers funded her first store in
Paris in 1910. They also helped her hats become popular with rich
women.
In the 1920s, Chanel rose to become Paris’ top fashion designer. Her
comfortable, yet elegant clothes were popular across Europe. Women
found her mannish clothes to be liberating. In 1922 Chanel introduced
her perfume, Chanel No. 5, which is still highly profitable. Her famous
Chanel suit has also stood the test of time and is part of the modern
woman’s wardrobe.

At the beginning of World War II she moved into the Ritz Hotel in Paris,
which became her home for 30 years. During the Nazi occupation of
Paris she had a lover, a German spy. This relationship made her
unpopular for a decade after the war. Her 1954 collection did badly in
France. Today, however, her name is the biggest in fashion.

Me sentí bien con la actividad, ya que aprendí un poco más sobre este
idioma. Los ejercicios y actividades fueron significativos para mi
aprendizaje, ya que me ayudaron a comprender y utilizar mejor el
vocabulario y las estructuras lingüísticas.
¿Qué siente que debe mejorar en su proceso académico?
Reconozco que debo mejorar en la pronunciación oral, ya que necesito
tener más fluidez para hablar este idioma con confianza y precisión.
¿Cómo cree que esta actividad le aportó a su proceso académico?
Esta actividad aportó considerablemente a mi proceso académico. Me
permitió entender y reconocer los diferentes temas en el e-book
(módulos 1 - 3), a través de la producción de oraciones, la lectura de
pequeñas descripciones y otras actividades lingüísticas. Los STT fueron
buenos, ya que sus actividades enriquecieron mi conocimiento

Percibo que aprender un segundo idioma, específicamente el inglés, es
de gran importancia. Este conocimiento adicional enriquece mi
comprensión y me brinda la capacidad de comunicarse en diferentes
contextos. En un mundo cada vez más globalizado, es una herramienta
esencial que facilita la interacción con personas de diversas culturas y
amplía mis oportunidades tanto personales como profesionales.

Me sentí bien, ya que en ella pude aprender más en los módulos y me

Debo mejorar mucho su forma de escribir y mi vocabulario, como debo

Me aportó gracias a sus temas y ejercicios que tienen los módulos, de
ello aprendí un poco más, también de cómo con palabras revueltas

Es importante ya que en la mayoría de países o personas extranjeras,

interesante que me ha pasado en lo poco que he podido observar, me he

Es muy importante porque a medida que todo va avanzando, nosotros

Creo que esta actividad aportó a mi proceso académico dándome las
