GUIDELINES FOR PREPARATION OF B.

TECH TRAINNG/TECHNICAL
SEMINAR REPORT

• ARRANGING CONTENTS OF THE REPORT


• Proper indexing of contents such as the headings, topics, sub-topics in an orderly
form.
• Report should include list of figures in the indexing list of contents.
• Proper references and indexing of according to IEEE report format.
• Proper Numbering of pages. Numbering from Declaration to the list of tables will be
in Roman number (i.e. I, II, III, IV .....) whereas numbering of Chapters should be
in standard number format (i.e. 1, 2, 3 ....).
• MANUSCRIPT PREPARATION
• Type Style and Spacing: Same type style and font should be used throughout the
report and should be justified. All printing should be single sided. As per
following specifications:
• Font – Times New Roman
• Chapter Title – 16 Bold
• Heading – 14 Bold (1.1, 1.2 etc.), Subheading – 12 Bold (1.1.1, 1.2.2 etc.)
• Body Font Size – 12
• Figures and tables caption should be of 10 font Times New Roman and bold.
• Line Spacing – 1.5 lines
• Margins – Top, Bottom & Right – 1 Inch each and Left – 1.5 Inch (Including
Binding)
• Page Size – Standard A4
• Parts of Report (to be used for the purpose of the indexing):
• Title on 1st page (color page)
• Certificate
• Acknowledgement
• Declaration
• Abstract
• Contents
• List of Tables (If Any)
• List of Figures (If Any)
• Chapters(pages 1,2,3...)
• Future Scope
• Conclusion
• References
• Appendix (If Any)
• The Reference should be given at the end of the report in alphabetical order
indicating:
• The Authors name
• The title of the paper and name of the journal
• The name of the book and the publisher
• The number of the volume, page numbers
• Month and Year of publications
• Standard abbreviation may be used in the names of the journals.
NOTE: The citation of the reference should be validated with your prescribed references
using superscript.
• The Final print out of your report should be taken on A-4 papers.

• Students are advised to get their rough report checked by respective seminar
incharge regarding formatting contents etc. and following which Two Final copies
of the report in a spiral binding format should be submitted. (Front page is
attached).
