ANNOTATED BIBLIOGRAPHY

An annotated bibliography is a list of sources (books, articles, documents, etc.) that includes a
brief description and evaluation of each source. This evaluation is typically called an
annotation. Below is an example of how to format an annotated bibliography in APA style:

Example:
Smith, J. A. (2020). Climate Change and Its Impact on Wildlife. Environmental Science
Journal, 45(2), 123-145.

Annotation:

This article explores the effects of climate change on various wildlife species across different
regions. Smith provides evidence from recent studies and outlines potential consequences for
biodiversity. The article is well-researched and offers insight into how species are adapting to
environmental changes. This source is valuable for understanding the broader ecological
impacts of climate change and will be useful in discussions on species conservation.

Doe, M. L.* (2019). The Role of Renewable Energy in Mitigating Climate Change.
Journal of Clean Energy, 32(4), 567-590.

Annotation:

Doe's work discusses the potential of renewable energy sources, such as wind and solar power,
in reducing greenhouse gas emissions. The article evaluates the current state of renewable
energy adoption and projects future trends. The author’s analysis is thorough and supports the
argument that transitioning to clean energy is essential for reducing the carbon footprint. This
source will be helpful for my research on sustainable energy policies.

Johnson, R. & Lee, K. (2018). The Social Impacts of Climate Change in Urban Areas.
Urban Studies Review, 28(3), 211-230.

Annotation:
This study focuses on the socioeconomic effects of climate change in densely populated urban
centers. The authors highlight disparities in how different socioeconomic groups experience
climate-related challenges, such as heat waves and flooding. This source is critical for
examining the human dimensions of climate change and understanding how urban policies
need to address these inequalities.

Smith, John. Climate Change and Its Impact on Agriculture. Oxford University Press,
2019.

In this book, Smith provides an in-depth analysis of how climate change has affected
agricultural productivity across various regions globally. The author uses a combination of
statistical data and case studies to argue that changing weather patterns are contributing to both
increased crop failures and food insecurity. The source is particularly useful for understanding
the socio-economic impacts of climate change. The credibility of this source is reinforced by
the author's affiliation with a renowned academic institution, and it includes extensive
references.

Annotation:

This source is relevant to my research on the effects of climate change on food production. It
provides a comprehensive overview of the issue, supported by data from reliable sources. It
will be helpful for providing context and supporting my argument about the economic impact
of climate change.

Johnson, Emily, and Karen Lee. “Urban Farming and Its Role in Local Food Systems.”
Journal of Sustainable Agriculture, vol. 15, no. 4, 2020, pp. 345-360.

This peer-reviewed article explores the rise of urban farming initiatives in metropolitan areas
and their contribution to sustainable food systems. Johnson and Lee conduct interviews with
urban farmers and analyze local policies that promote or inhibit urban agriculture. The article
concludes that while urban farming offers potential for improving food security, its impact is
often limited by policy constraints and land access issues.

Annotation:
This article will be useful for my paper’s section on alternative agriculture practices. The
authors provide specific examples of urban farming programs, which will allow me to illustrate
the practical applications of sustainable agriculture. The study's limitations and its critique of
current policies also provide a balanced view of the topic.
