Think about these Questions:
1. Do people really need technology in their lives? Is it really a necessity?
Technology plays a crucial role in both personal and professional life
since it makes you feel safer in all facets of your life. More people will have
access to basic essentials like food and water as technology advances because
it makes it possible to get those items to those who might not otherwise be
able to. Today, all facets of daily life including education and city navigation
require the use of technology. We rely heavily on technology to do daily
chores.
2. How do you reconcile the 'need' for technology and the dilemmas it
faces?
Through literacy or education is the best way to balance the need for
technology with the difficulties it now encounters, particularly in regard to
ethical considerations. There are numerous problems that technology is now
dealing with. I want to concentrate on one since I think that each of these
problems deserves its own explanation. Technology is currently dealing with
a number of ethical problems, including copyright violations, infringement of
intellectual property rights, and online crimes including cyberbullying,
phishing, scamming, and the like.
3. Should there be an ethics of technology?

Indeed, ethics should apply to technology as well. Ethics refers to all laws,
practices, and standards of behavior that are based on moral values.
Inappropriate language, cyberbullying, and sexual activity must be stopped by
technology.
Activities:
1. Philosophical Discussion
a. Do technological devices bring better than bad to people?
New technology will continue to have an impact on these activities as long as
people interact, learn, and think. It has a favorable effect on society and has an
effective effect on how people connect on a daily basis. Modern civilization is
entirely dependent on technological innovation. Everyday life experiences are
affected by it, and both positive and negative effects are seen on the world.
Most people are using modern technology to do various activities. Life has
become more convenient and enjoyable. You will realize that the recent
development of technology has made it possible for us to lead more comfortable
lives. From accessing massive amounts of information on the internet to simply
experiencing an enriched personal lifestyle, technology continues to benefit us day
in, and day out. It is undoubtedly true that technology is an important part of our
daily lives.
Nowadays, most people have computers, laptops, tablets, and even
smartphones. These devices have made communication easier. Nowadays, you can
browse the internet from anywhere, anytime. These devices have made life more
enjoyable.
b. Should there be more budget for technological research despite the dilemmas
they are currently facing?
I believe that any successful material, process, business, or product had

research even before it became what we use today. Increasing money for technical
research is, in my opinion, one of the best investments we could make if we want to
advance technology. There is a good likelihood that one of these studies will surpass
all others in the field, despite the possibility of bad budget management or
unexpected outcomes that may not be in our favor.
Purpose of Research:
• It acts as evidence for a hypothetical claim. It serves as proof of the veracity of a

claim, the applicability of an idea, or the viability of an activity. We can arrive at the
conclusion that would be advantageous prior to pursuing major courses of action by
taking the appropriate procedures.
• It gives you insight into the plan you are creating. You may see your proposal as
you track the results of your research by conducting research. Most scientists are
open-minded and prepare for scenarios when things could not go as planned. When
it occurs, they have a different course of action in mind. They will not accept failure.
That serves as yet another roadblock in the development of their hypotheses.
• One of the characteristics of technology is research. Without research, technology

does not exist. Information gathering, careful planning, step-by-step execution,
unbiased analysis, and evaluation result in technology. Research plays a significant
role in technological developments, which are innovations of an existing technology
utilized to add more benefits to something that is already advantageous.
c. Should there be a limit to technological advancements?
Yes, the pace of technological advancement should be constrained.
• Because technology improvements have both significantly improved life quality

and also had many negative repercussions.
• Technology's impact on society will only increase in the next years. Eventually
become a permanent component of it in its current state.
Additionally, they might exacerbate more severe medical issues like depression.
Children and teenagers who are still developing may be more negatively impacted
by excessive usage of technology.
2. Group Skit
➢ Robots that are capable of having emotions
If society were to take into account robots' rights if they were to acquire emotional
capacities, humanity may suffer. It is cruel and unfair to withhold specific treatments
and activities from a living, feeling creature. Therefore, having robots with feelings
and desires would be very disruptive to our society.
➢ Google and stupidity
I don't think Google has any control over the content that people or websites may
post on their platform. Simply put, Google returns a ton of information in response
tremendous a single search. It just depends on how well people use them and how
thoroughly they check their veracity.
➢ Filipinos' addiction to different technologies
In 2019, the Philippines was identified as the country with the greatest rate of internet
addiction. We make extensive use of technology and spend a lot of time online. Even
when there is no Wi-Fi available, many of us continue to use our free mobile data to
get by each day. Additionally, we downloaded a number of games.
Although technology has made it easier for us to communicate with others who live
far away and to easily fulfill the requirements of our employment, it also has negative
consequences on
1. Lack of communication with family members - Most of us don't often

interact with those. They are close to us because we are occupied with
amusement.
2. Sorting out our priorities - Sometimes, having fun comes before getting
work done.
3. Academic performance worsens – Present-day students are easily

sidetracked. Some people are starting to use words and spell them incorrectly.
4. Declination of mental health - A user who spends too much time online may
start comparing themselves to others, which can lower their self-worth and
induce anxiety or melancholy.
5. Low EQ - Spending excessive amounts of time in front of a screen might
reduce social interaction, which can lower one's emotional quotient.

You may actively report traffic, accidents, police stings, closed roads, weather

using Waze, you may provide real-time information about traffic conditions and
route layout. When using Waze, you may actively inform the community about
traffic, collisions, police stings, blocked roads, weather, and much more. Every day,
Waze collects this information and immediately analyzes it to provide other Wazers
with the most efficient route to their destination.
