of Assertion.
(C) Assertion is true but Reason is false.
(D) Both Assertion and Reason are false.
5 Assertion(A): To convert a galvanometer into an ammeter a small resistance 1
is connected in parallel with it.
Reason(R) : The small resistance increases the combined resistance of the
combination.
6 Assertion (A): Para magnetism and ferromagnetism are associated with 1
orbital motion of electrons.
Reason (R) : In Ferro magnetics the magnetic effect is increased due to the
formation of domains.

13 Case Study based Question: A charged particle moving in a magnetic field 4

experiences a force that which is given by 𝐹⃗ = 𝑞(𝑣⃗ × 𝐵
⃗⃗ ) , where q is the electric

charge of the particle, 𝑣⃗ is the instantaneous velocity ofthe particle, and 𝐵

⃗⃗is

the magnetic field (in tesla).

Force is perpendicular to both velocity and magnetic field. Its direction is same
as 𝑣⃗ × 𝐵
⃗⃗ if q is positive and opposite of 𝑣⃗ × 𝐵
⃗⃗ if q is negative.
