I am writing to express my interest in the Research Assistant position in the School of Public
Health, as advertised. With a strong background in mathematics and statistics and a passion for
data analysis, I am well-equipped to contribute effectively to your team.
I hold a BSc in Mathematics and Statistics from the University of Ghana, as well as a master’s
degree in Data Science from Skoltech, where I gained hands-on experience in data analysis,
machine learning techniques, statistical modeling, and data visualization. Additionally, I have
gained experience working on projects such as “Machine Learning for Road Traffic
Optimization, Deep Learning Methods in Russian’s Boreal Forests Classification, Modeling
Cryptocurrency-returns with Multivariate Stable Distributions, etc.”

Education
Skolkovo Institute of Science and Technology (Skoltech) Moscow, Russia
MSc Data Science (Mathematics and Computer Science) Sep 2019 - Jul 2021
University of Ghana, Legon Accra, Ghana
BSc Mathematics and Statistics Aug 2014 - Jun 2018
Tufts University Boston, USA
Mathematics Exchange Program Sep 2016 - May 2017
Projects
Machine Learning for Road Traffic Optimization
With Python and Machine Learning techniques, we optimized the speed and safety of multiple driverless
vehicles on the road and achieved 100km/h with no collisions
Deep Learning Methods in Russian’s Boreal Forests Classification
With Python and the Faster Region Convulutional Neural Network (Faster R-CNN), we classified plant
species from the Russian boreal forest and obtained a mean accuracy of 97%
Machine Learninging for Text or Speech Recognition
With Python and Tensorflow, we built neural networks for speech or text recognition and obtained a mean
accuraccy of 98.6%
Audio Watermarking with Discrete Wavelet Transform and Singular Value Decomposition
With Python, discrete wavelet transform (DWT), and singular value decomposition (SVD) techniques we
embed noisy signal into an audio signal and obtained an undetectable clean audio

GLOBAL EDUCATION
This is to certify that Jerry Atibire Atorigo was enrolled as a full-time student at Tufts
University under the exchange agreement between Tufts and the University of Ghana in the
2016-17 academic year. Following completion of the academic year, Mr. Atorigo’s transcript
was sent to the University of Ghana to be added to his entire undergraduate transcript.
The School of Public Health,
University of Ghana, Legon,
P.O. Box LG 25.
Apart from that he has attended an extensive set of courses covering machine learning and
mathematical modeling during our MSc program. Importantly, Mr. Atorigo also shows a very
friendly and non-conflict type of character.
I believe that Mr. Jerry Atorigo was a very diligent student and will become an excellent
researcher. Please contact me if you require additional information.
Thank you.
