I hold a BSc in Mathematics and Statistics from the University of Ghana, as well as a master’s
degree in Data Science from Skoltech, where I gained hands-on experience in data analysis,
machine learning techniques, statistical modeling, and data visualization. Additionally, I have
gained experience working on projects such as “Machine Learning for Road Traffic
Optimization, Deep Learning Methods in Russian’s Boreal Forests Classification, Modeling
Cryptocurrency-returns with Multivariate Stable Distributions, etc.”

My research interests primarily revolve around applications of machine learning, and I am

excited about the opportunity to explore machine learning in infectious disease modeling and
intervention strategies within your institution.

With Python and Machine Learning techniques, we optimized the speed and safety of multiple driverless
vehicles on the road and achieved 100km/h with no collisions
Deep Learning Methods in Russian’s Boreal Forests Classification
With Python and the Faster Region Convulutional Neural Network (Faster R-CNN), we classified plant
species from the Russian boreal forest and obtained a mean accuracy of 97%
Machine Learninging for Text or Speech Recognition
With Python and Tensorflow, we built neural networks for speech or text recognition and obtained a mean
accuraccy of 98.6%
Audio Watermarking with Discrete Wavelet Transform and Singular Value Decomposition
With Python, discrete wavelet transform (DWT), and singular value decomposition (SVD) techniques we
embed noisy signal into an audio signal and obtained an undetectable clean audio

A RECOMMENDATION FOR MR. JERRY ATORIGO

I write in support of Mr. Jerry Atorigo and his desire to work as a Research Assistant in the
School of Public Health at the University of Ghana.
I have known Jerry as his supervisor during his MSc studies at Skoltech. First, I interacted with
him when he attended my graduate-level course “Stochastic Methods in Mathematical
Modelling”. He had shown a passion for the subject and received an A grade performing very
well, showing good presentation skills, and defending the course project on modelling
cryptocurrency returns.
In his capacity as a master’s student, he has proven his ability to work despite very limiting
pandemic conditions which made in-person interaction impossible. He has proven to be able to
do a literature search and critically analyze the results. In the later stages of his reinforcement
learning optimization project, he suggested the Madras environment and managed to successfully
integrate the Deep Deterministic Policy Gradient (DDPG) reinforcement learning technique to
perform the multi-agent optimization in this environment. During our interaction, Jerry exhibited
an ability to properly act on my (i.e. supervisor’s) feedback and showed skills in understanding
external Python codes as well as reinforcement learning and neural network techniques.

Apart from that he has attended an extensive set of courses covering machine learning and
mathematical modeling during our MSc program. Importantly, Mr. Atorigo also shows a very
friendly and non-conflict type of character.
I believe that Mr. Jerry Atorigo was a very diligent student and will become an excellent
