PAGE, YOU ARE ON THE WRONG SITE!
You can choose to use
your Trusts Situs
address or your Trusts
mailing address here.
1. Where do I go to get an EIN number?
A: Make sure that “IRS.gov” is the URL!
Tiny URL: https://tinyurl.com/3p65k3ss
Full URL: https://www.IRS.gov/businesses/small-businesses-self-employed/apply-for-an-
employer-identification-number-ein-online
4. Why do I see something different on the website or booklet than what I see here?
A: My slides and booklet is current as of July 2021. If the web page is different, more than likely
you entered the wrong legal structure and type for which you are applying for or the website
has been updated – the former being the more likely of the two options, Make sure that you
select “Trust” as the legal structure and “Irrevocable” as the type.
5. What do I get to prove I have an EIN number?
A: At the end of the process, you will be given the option to immediately get your EIN
number via an online downloadable PDF. Alternatively, you can opt not to receive it
via online and rather have it sent to your mailing address. Either way, copy or print it
the document and store in in paper form as well as electronic in your fireproof safe.
6. Why am I being asked to pay a fee to my EIN number? I thought you said it was FREE?
A: It is free! If you are being asked to pay a fee, you are on the wrong website. Make
sure that the URL address starts with IRS.gov/.
