An Introduction to Photoshop Training Course Outline
o Grasp the fundamental principles behind RGB and CMYK color models.
o Recognize the primary colors in each model and how they mix to create other
colors.
o Identify where and how each color model is used (e.g., RGB for digital media,
CMYK for print).
o Understand the importance of selecting the correct color model based on the
medium.
Color Conversion:
Practical Implementation:
o Apply color models in real-world scenarios (e.g., designing for print vs. web).
o Utilize color models in various software applications (e.g., Adobe Photoshop,
Illustrator).

o Standard: 85x55 mm (3.5x2 inches)
• Standard Resolution for Print: 300 DPI (Dots Per Inch)
1. Digital Media:
o Lower resolution (72 PPI) is usually sufficient for digital displays to ensure fast
loading times and compatibility across devices.
o Maintain aspect ratios to avoid distortion.
2. Print Media:
o Higher resolution (300 DPI) is necessary for print to ensure sharp and clear
images.
o Use CMYK color model for accurate color reproduction in printing.
o Ensure the image size matches the physical dimensions of the printed material
to avoid quality loss.
3. Aspect Ratio:
o Pay attention to aspect ratios to ensure images look correct on different
platforms.
o Common aspect ratios: 1:1 (square), 16:9 (widescreen), 4:3 (standard).
• Scaling Images: Avoid scaling up low-resolution images for print as this can lead to
pixelation and loss of quality.
• File Formats: Use appropriate file formats (JPEG for photos, PNG for images with
transparency, SVG for scalable vector graphics).
• Bleed and Margins: For print designs, include bleed areas (typically 3-5 mm) to ensure
no white edges appear after trimming. Maintain safe margins for important content.
