about our school performance. For example, right now, I 6) am packing (pack) my suitcase. I 7) am
flying (fly) to Thailand tomorrow morning to start my gap year volunteering in marine conservation. This
8) doesn’t mean (not/mean) that I am not a good student or that my marks are not high. In fact, I am an
excellent student and I plan to study Marine Biology when I get back. My choice right now simply 9)
proves (prove) that I want to gain some real-life experience before committing to a three-year degree

I agree with Steph92. As long as we are happy with our choices, nothing else 10) matters (matter). My
mum makes me furious because she 11) is always telling (always/tell) me that higher education is the
best choice. She 12) believes(believe) that vocational training, for example, is not a good decision and

more wrong! There are plenty of essential and well-respected jobs out there that don’t require a
