A. In the UK there are a number of different business types possible for any
business, such as Computer Maintenance Group (CMG) Ltd. Detail TWO
others of these and explain how they operate and differ to each other.
Also detail how these different business types might influence the
structure and culture of the organisation. Support your answer with
evidence of wider academic reading in the form of citations and
references
“CMG Ltd have over 1,000 customers throughout the region and require a
database to store their customers’ information.
Each of their customers has a contract indicating what services they are
provided with by CMG Ltd. The contract also indicates what Service Level
Agreement (SLA) they have between customers and CMG Ltd, the service
levels are named as either, Platinum level, Gold level, Silver level or Bronze
level. Each of these SLA have associated terms and conditions.
When customers have a problem or require new products or services, they will
contact CMG Ltd.’s call centre where they employ call centre staff to act as a
first line support.
The call centre staff are trained to provide a lot of first line support however and
so the call centre staff use a knowledge base, filed with Knowledge Base
Articles, used to find out solutions that can be achieved via the call centre.
CMG Ltd employs 10 technicians throughout the UK, who travel to visit clients
and resolve any issues that cannot be resolved via the call centre so the
database will need to be able to record these visits and what services are
provided to the customer, all of which also need to be recorded in the database
with their associated costs”.
