Modelling And

Manufacturing
Tutorial 3 :

Step 1:

Open the Sketcher Workbench by navigating through the following path:
Product Workbench > Start > Mechanical Design > Part Design Workbench > Select the
Axis > Sketcher Workbench.

Step 2:

Begin by drawing a circle with a radius of 40mm, and within it, another smaller concentric
circle. Then, draw two additional circles, each with a radius of 10mm, parallel to the first
ones. The centers of these two smaller circles are spaced 130mm apart, while the
centers of the larger circles are spaced 160mm apart.

Step 3:

Connect the circles using a right bi-tangent line. Use the eraser tool to delete any
unwanted lines.

Step 4:

Using the oblong outline tool, create a shape in the middle of the model, measuring
60mm in length.

Step 5:

Click the “Exit Sketch” button, located at the top-right of the Sketcher toolbar, to return to
the 3D environment. Now, within the Part Design Workbench, select the "Pad" tool to
extrude the 2D sketch into a 3D solid model.
Exercise 4:

 Step 1:
Open the Sketcher Workbench using the following method:
Product Workbench > Start > Mechanical Design > Part Design Workbench > Select the
Axis > Sketcher Workbench.
 Step 2:
Draw two axis lines, followed by a rectangle with a length of 110mm and a width of
120mm. In the top-right corner of the rectangle, draw a small circle with a radius of
10mm, positioned 30mm from both edges. Then, apply the chamfer tool to replicate the
effect at the rectangle's edge, as demonstrated in the figure. In the bottom-right corner,
draw another small rectangle with a width of 20mm and a length of 30mm.
 Step 3:
Use the eraser tool to delete any unwanted lines.

 Step 4:
Utilize the mirroring tool to create duplicates of the parts as required.
 Step 5:
Click on the “Exit Sketch” button to return to the 3D environment. In the Part Design
Workbench, use the "Pad" tool to extrude the 2D sketch into a 3D solid model.
Exercise 5:

 Step 1:
Open the Sketcher Workbench using the following method:
Product Workbench > Start > Mechanical Design > Part Design Workbench > Select the
Axis > Sketcher Workbench.
 Step 2:
Using the arc tool, draw a half-circle and adjust its dimensions using the constraint tool.
Add two vertical lines to the endpoints of the arc and adjust their dimensions accordingly.
 Step 3:
Draw a rectangle with a height of 140mm and a length of 260mm. Remove any
unnecessary lines using the quick trim tool.
 Step 4:
Using the predefined tool, draw a "cylindrical elongated hole" and immediately adjust its
dimensions using the constraint tool. Then, draw an ellipse, adjust its dimensions with the
constraint tool after selecting it from the toolbox.
 Step 5:
Click the “Exit Sketch” button to return to the 3D environment. In the Part Design
Workbench, use the "Pad" tool to extrude the 2D sketch into a 3D solid model.
