1. Interface Introduction
The screenshot below shows the main interface and features in Revizto. A brief description for each
button on the top taskbar is as follow:
• Revizto Icon: Check for Updates and find Logs for troubleshooting purposes.
• Project: Import, Export, and Download for Field” option is located here (see section 36)
• Edit: Visual effects and schedulers can be found here [Admin]
• Sync: Synchronize changes made in 2D and 3D modules (see section 31)

• Username (varies): this is where the user can change their name and password
2. Modules
In Revizto, 2D sheets/PDFs and the 3D model is stored under the 2D tab and 3D tab respectively. 2D
sheets exported from Revit will be automatically associated with the 3D model, which means you can
view both 2D and 3D together in one screen. The last tab is the Issue Tracker module which utilize both
2D and 3D module to display the location of the issue on 2D plans and in 3D space within the model
respectively. The 2D, 3D, and Issue Tracker modules can be accessed via keyboard shortcut ‘2’, ‘3’,
and ‘4’ respectively.
4|Page
2D Module
The 2D modules have 2 different view: Gallery View and Sheet View.
• Toggle Filters: search for drawings based on tags (see section 6) and metadata
• Import File: import in PDF(s) or images (see section 7)
• Export: export to PDF(s) with or without pins and markups (see section 8)
• Add New Folder: create a new folder for organization purposes
• Move To: Move the selected sheet(s) to an folder
• Multi-tags: Sheets can be associated with tags for better organization and filtering (see section 6)
• Delete: Remove the sheets that are not required. (Note, 3D models have to be removed via
“Scenes and Scheduler” [Admin])
• Detach from Docs: remove the link from integration [Admin]
• Detail: This will show the metadata and version history of each sheet. The number of items is
shown when a folder is selected.
3. Compare
Revizto is able track the 2D sheet upload history and overlay sheets to compare the changes between
versions. It can be helpful to recognize and review the significant changes between submissions. For
more detail of how to make 2D sheet comparison, check out this link.
6|Page
4. Organize 2D sheets
All 2D sheets/PDFs can be managed under 2D tab. New folder can be added for organization purpose.
For more detail of how to arrange 2D, check out this link.
5. Measure
Measuring is a very helpful tool while reviewing the model and creating issues, including linear length
measurement, angle measurement, and area calculations. The icon is depicted as a ruler. It is also
possible to create an issue after measurement markups have been inserted within the same window.
For more details of how to create a measurement, check out this link.
6. Tags in 2D
2D tags are used for filtering the 2D sheets/PDFs. It is noted that 2D sheet tags are different from the
issue tag (see section 23). 2D tags are used to attach custom metadata to sheets for filtering purpose.
Tagging 2D sheets can help to easily filter a group of sheets. For example, add tags to all the 50% CD
sheets can help quickly find out all related sheets later for review. For more detail of tagging 2D sheets,
check out this link.
7|Page
7. Import 2D drawings
The common method to import 2D drawings by exporting it directly from various CAD programs using
the Revizto plug-ins as this brings up additional metadata that is helpful in the background. Other than
importing 2D sheets from Revit or other CAD programs, PDF(s) can be imported directly into Revizto.
Once a PDF file has been selected, Revizto will automatically find 2D sheets with same names or page
labels to slip sheet for proper revision control. Note that the direct upload does contain the coordinates
information which means it will not align with the 3D model. These PDF(s) can be setup with 3D overlay
with manual integration. Note, multi-pages PDF(s) will be broken in single pages. This is helpful to bring
in a set of drawings as Revizto will auto separate the set into individual drawings. For more detail,
check out this link.
8|Page
8. Export from 2D
2D sheets can be exported as PDF(s) with or without the option to show markups and pins (aka
stamps). These markups and pins can be adjusted based on the filter being applied.
9. Transition from 2D to 3D
One of the major advantages working with the Revit files in Revizto instead of PDF(s) is the ability to
work interchangeable between 2D and 3D. There are 2 methods to go from 2D to 3D.
9|Page
a. 2D Overlay: Click on the “Green House” icon at the bottom left corner of the drawing (This icon
appears while using the “Pin” or “None” option; the “Markups” view hides the “Green House”)
b. Teleportation: Click on the 3D box with arrow then select a room/area within the green boundary
to be teleported to that room/area in the 3D model

In 3D mode, there are 5 navigation mode: Revizto, Game, Revit, Sketchup, and Navisworks Walk.
Revitzo model is the default navigation mode:
• Zoom in/out: scroll the middle mouse
• Rotate: right click while moving the mouse
• Move: holding the middle mouse and while moving
Navigation mode can be switched in the preference of Revizto (see section 35)
Section tool is located at the tool bar as a scissor. There are two section cut method: Plane and Box.
For more detail of how to customize a section cut, check out this link.
Viewpoint gives you quick access to the preset 3D view for meeting/presentation, saving time from
navigating in the model. Viewpoints can be a section cut/ box from any camera angle. Saved
viewpoints can be organized and classified under the Viewpoint function. For more detail on how to
create a viewpoint, check out this link.

13. Model Link and Object Tree
New to Revizto V5 is the ability to load specific model as required. This can be beneficial to see certain
models at one time to minimize performance impact and model file size gets bigger as it progresses
thru the design.
Models contains the “Object Tree” which allows the selection of individual or group of elements based
on how they were categorized in Revit. Within the Object Tree function, the reset function is provided to
remove all color applied texture, reset all transparency back to 0%, and unhide all model elements. The
default texture is the full model that was exported from Revit and other CAD software.
13 | P a g e
14. Search Sets and Appearance Templates
Search Sets and Appearance Templates have replaced Filter by Phase in Revizto V5.
Search Sets allows the selection and filter creation of 3D model elements. The search function is useful
for isolation of elements of interest and save these filters as pre-set for future use.
Appearance templates takes search sets or any custom filter/search and applies cosmetic features to
them for visual and coordination use. Model elements can be color-coded or transparency adjustments
to suit the use case scenario. An appearances template can be locked so that regardless of the
viewpoint being utilized, the appearance template is constantly applied for that viewing session. As
Revizto is a non-destructive environment, appearance templates are only temporarily applied onto the
model and can be reversed to the original texture/color in the Object Tree (see section 13).
14 | P a g e
Similar to Issue Tracker filters, both Search Sets and Appearance Templates can be shared with others
(see section 22). For more detail on how to create search sets and/or appearance templates, check out
this link.
Details pertain to each model elements such as geometry, categories, family, etc. are imported from
Revit and can be utilized in Revizto for viewing and organization purposes. Within the “Properties”,
certain property details can be favorited and those can be arranged in a pre-set view. This method
allows the viewing of the details based on pre-set favorites for any selection of model element.
15 | P a g e
16. Record and Camera Share
The “Record” allows the user to record their virtual trip thru the model whether using the walk mode or
regular flying mode. This video can include audio recording from one dictating the video.
The “Video Share” allows one to navigate thru the model while livestreaming it to people they have
invited. This is useful for coordination purposes and allows other user to see the same view as the main
user in real time.
Revizto has currently disabled this function at this time and is working on bring back this
feature in future updates.

Note, the bottom toolbar is based on the previous module/tab accessed prior to the “Issue Tracker”.
Under the “Issue Tracker” toolbar contains 4 sections: Issue List, Filters, Chat, Info. By default, the
Issue List will appear and cannot be hidden. The other 3 sections can be expanded/collapsed, and
each served a different function. Changes made within this module is instantaneously sync to the cloud
if the computer is online.
18 | P a g e
17. Create Issues
Issues in Revizto are used to raise, record, and store information pertaining to a design item or clash
conflict. Issues can be created by using preset stamps, the “ST” sign, or from scratch by clicking the “+”
sign on the tool bar. For more detail of issue creation, check this link for creating Issue.
Issues can be edited after creation by just simply clicking on the issue and the Info button to edit
markups and all other basic information.
19 | P a g e
18. Insert Stamps
Revizto stamps are the standard templates carrying preset details which will automatically fill in fields
during issue creation. Using stamps to create issue(s) is beneficial to standardize and manage the issue-
tracking during the project cycle. This affects filters’ effectiveness in the “Issue Tracker” module, and
Dashboards/Reports in the web portal.
To create a new stamp, click the “ST” sign on the tool bar under “2D”, “3D”, and “Issue tracker” tabs.
Afterwards, click on the desired location of the 2D sheets or in the 3D space. For more detail of stamp
creation, check out this link.
20 | P a g e
19. Manage Stamps
Click on the small “ST” button with the gear will open the Stamp management window. [Admin]
In the “Manage Stamps” window, follow the below screenshot steps to create and organize a pre-set
stamp. All pre-set details can be edited after setup, but these new changes will not have applied on
existing issues. Stamp categories can be used to classify stamps for different purpose. An information
assigned to a category will impact all stamps under that particular category.
21 | P a g e
20. Issue Tracker Info
Depending on the permission settings for one’s role, every field can be adjusted in the Info section. Title
does have a character limitation at 230 characters, so if a title/question is longer, the best spot to place
it is in the Chat section (see section 21) and make references to it via the “Title”. The only fixed field
that is automatically generated is “Created”. The “Assignee” field can only be inputted for one person at
a time while the “Watcher” list is unlimited. Any “Assignee” will be automatically added to the
“Watchers” list. Any issue that has “Public” field turned off will be only seen by the “Assignee”,
“Watchers”, and all admins. For more detail, check out this link.
For each issue, there’s an associated chat window where the project members can add comments,
upload document, or upload photos (including 360 photos). All changes of the issue made in the Info
section are documented in the chat window. The filter at the top of the Chat section can show/hide the
type of changes, text, and attachments. For more detail, check out this link.
During the lifecycle of the project, there will be various amounts of issues in various status. The “Filter”n
can help to manage the issues and isolate out the issue for review per user by using the preset filter or
customize filter parameters to individual user’s need. The following are details that can be filtered by:
• Issue Type (Regular, Stamp, Clash)
• Created environmental (2D, 3D, other)
• Assignee
• Priority
• Status (Open, In Progress, Solved, Closed)
• Deadline (including issues with no deadline)
• Created Date
• Closed Date
• Reporter
• Watchers
• Tag
• Stamp Abbreviation
• Stamp Category
• Stamp Color
• Privacy (Public or Private)
• Sheets
• Attached Docs [Admin]
One can sort how the filter displays the issues based on title, date created, assignee, etc. Finally, user’s
custom filter can then be saved for future use or update existing filters. Then these filters can be shared
with everyone [Admin]. For more detail of how to use Issue Tracker Filters, check out this link.
Tags is a customizable field to allow user to create identifiers/phases for organizing and filtering
purposes. Tags can be prepopulated in the stamp template setup, so that when a stamp is used, the
preset tag will be automatically assigned to the new issue. Additionally, tags can be added afterwards.
22 | P a g e
It is noted that issue tags are different from the 2D tag (see section 6). For more detail, check out this
link.
Click the “Manage Tags” logo to get access to Tag management page where tag(s) can be added,
renamed, removed by clicking the corresponding button. This button and function will be unavailable to
certain users depending on one’s permission [Admin].
Issues created in one Revizto project can be transferred to another Revizto project containing all the
same information such as abbreviation, title, assignee, and reporter, etc. If the models were exported to
Revizto based on the same coordinate alignment method in the new project, the new issue(s) will be in
the same location as the previous project. Note, all assignee and watchers will be transferred over as
email addresses and are not active in the new project. These users must be invited in order to receive
notifications and collaborate on the issues in the new project [Admin].
To do this, use a filter to isolate out the issue for export, then click the export button at the Tool bar. The
export file format is “vimmrk”.
23 | P a g e
Once the export is completed, open the new Revizto project. Using the tool bar at the top, click the
“Import” button and load “vimmrk” file. One field’s information that is not transferred over is the “Issue
ID” number as this is unique per project.
Issues/Stamps created on 2D drawings can be viewed inside the 3D model and vice versa. Stamps can
show up on different set of drawings and different scopes. (For example, a stamp on an Architectural
plan drawing will appear on an Electrical plan drawing depicting the same location). This also applies to
section and detail drawings.
Note: It is recommended that user load the 3D module ahead of using this feature so the list of 2D
drawings that the selected issue is applicable to will appear.
24 | P a g e
27. Edit multiple issues
Multiple issues can be updated with the “Multi-Edit” functions whether it is adding a new watcher to all
relevant stamps or privatizing a group of stamps. Note: Prior to clicking on “Multi-Edit”, check out the
filters being utilized. One can create a filter to ensure the correct issues are shown and then the “Pick
All” button can be used instead of searching for the correct issues to edit.
There are times when an issue has changed scope, need to add watchers from a different team or the
incorrect stamp was used. Following the previous section 27, after step 4, the selection of the new
stamp template can be applied.
25 | P a g e
Note: When a stamp template is applied, the “Title” field will change as well and need to be re-entered.
One can click on “Back” button to revert back to view the previous “Title”.
Note: Any watchers from the new stamp template will be added and existing watchers will remain on
the issue.
Other Features
The plugins are for connection between Revizto and Revit/Navisworks. The plugins will be downloaded
and installed automatically along with the Revizto package during the installation process. Note, it is
recommended the user does not deselect anything during the installation process. Revitzo can be
download from this link.
26 | P a g e
30. Upload 2D sheets and 3D model
Both 3D and 2D can be directly uploaded from Revit to Revizto through the Revit plugin. The 3D
geometry and clashes can be brought to Revizto through Navisworks plugin. Recommendations for
uploading models from Revit to Revizto:
• Replace the existing model rather than Append a new if the same model already exists.
• Select the proper 3D view for export. If the linked model is visible in this 3D view, the link model
3D geometry will be exported as well. It is recommended to set a dedicated 3D view for Revizto
collaboration in Revit to avoid model duplication.
• 2D sheets can be selected for export within the export dialogue.
• Positioning should use “By Shared Coordinates” to make sure all models line up in both Revizto
and Navisworks.
For more details on the export procedure, check out this link for tutorial.
27 | P a g e
31. Sync
After 2D sheets and 3D models are exported to Revizto, the data is only stored locally until the user
“Sync” to the cloud for everyone’s view. When the 2D and 3D edits/updates are available and ready to
upload to Cloud, the “Sync” sign will become ungrayed out and shown as white bold text. In Revizto
plug-in within Revit, there is an option for automatically syncing after the scheduled uploads are
completed and another option ignore any model errors to streamline the uploading/sync process. It is
recommended that users use both these features. These options can also be found in Revizto 5 Export
Scheduler program.
28 | P a g e
32. “Live link” between Revizto and Revit/Navisworks
Issues in Revizto can be reviewed in real time in Revit and Navisworks. Both Revizto and
Revit/Navisworks need to be opened at the same time for this feature to operate properly. To start, click
“Issue Tracker” within the plugin in Revit/Navisworks to connect Revizto. After the two programs are
linked, double click any issues in Revizto and the Revit/Navisworks will transport to the same view as
Revizto. For more detail of the procedure of working, check out this link.
29 | P a g e
Miscellaneous
By default, people will get email notification of every change to issues they are being reported/assigned
and watching .To adjust the notification frequency, go to Revizto workspace, and then go to the profile
setting page to customize the “Default Email Notification” setting as per below screenshots. You can
also access it via the “Reporting” button in “Issue Tracker”.
30 | P a g e
35. Preference
Revizto allows users to customize settings under “Preference” for the Revizto Application. Settings can
be adjusted for better user experience is outlined below. Note, it is recommended that users do not
change any of the settings not listed/defined below unless directed to by Revizto Support or an
administrator. For detailed explanation of each setting, check out this link.
• General
o Default Screen for all Projects: Change the default modules/tab that appears when the
project is opened.
o Specify links to load each time projects opens: Determine if Revizto is to load all 3D
models or ask the user every single time.
• Navigation:
o Navigation Mode: Change the navigation methodology based on user’s previous
experience with the listed third-party software.
o Movement Sensitivity: Help reduce shakiness when navigating and viewing in Revizto.
• Display Units
o Linear Units: Switch between metric or imperial units being used on the project. Note,
this applies to all projects, so if the user has 2 projects that uses different units, the user
has to change this setting as they switch between projects. This setting does not
overwrite the project units. It merely displays the units as per the user’s preference.
• Graphics
o Graphics View: Performance and user experience are dependent on each user’s device
hardware and their settings. This is where the user can adjust for their experience.
Typically, all the other options underneath should be unselected except “Double sided
materials”.
• Camera
o Field of View: Change the observable area that the user can see on their screen at one
time.
o Visibility Distance: Reduce the value to increase performance as it will load less model
information and element.
o Walker’s Height: Set the height of one’s virtual body to get an accurate representation of
their view within the 3D model
There is a “Download for Field” button that downloads/stores an offline copy of the model, issues, and
sheets for field use. This is useful for users who may not always have a data connection. Note, this
feature can be used to improve performance which operating in the Revizto application though this
experience varies between users.
Owners using Revizto can refer to this link for workflow that pertain to their needs and viewpoints.
MEP trades using Revizto can refer to this link for workflow that pertain to their needs and viewpoints.
31 | P a g e
The iOS version of Revizto (iPad only) operates the same in terms of functionality and looks. There are
minor differences between Windows and iOS version:
• Import or Exporting any third-party files cannot be done on the iOS. This applies to the following:
o Export to “.exe” file format
o Export to “.ifc” file format
o Export to PDF(s) in 2D and Issue Tracker modules.
o Import another Revizto project
o Import point cloud files
o Uploading attachments to the chat section of the Issue Tracker module. Only photos
(360 included) and files from Docs integration are allowed.
• Navigation mode can not be changed. It is defaulted as “Game” navigation mode. The left half
of the screen is a virtual joystick for similar to using “WASD” with keyboard. The right side is for
free-looking similar to right-click and drag with a mouse on Windows.
• There is a gyro function using the iPad’s accelerometers beside the “Walk” function in 3D.
• There is no switchback setting in “Preferences” as Navisworks workflow can be only completed
on Windows.
Android and Mac versions are assumed to be the similar to iOS and Windows respectively
but were not tested for the purposes on this user guide. It is at the risk of the user who uses
the Android and Mac versions.
