Guidelines for Applicants

EUROPEAN MASTER DEGREE IN PLANT HEALTH IN SUSTAINABLE CROPPING SYSTEMS


PLANTHEALTH

Step 1: Access to the PlantHealth online application system:


Both self-funded candidates and scholarship applicants submit their application forms through the same on-line
system, available on the website: www.planthealth.upv.es

To create a new user, access the website: https://www.planthealth.upv.es/user/create_applicant and create a new
user. You will have to fill in the requested data and then click on “create”:
- Decide a username and a password
- Insert your personal email address
- Insert the verification code that appears on the screen

Once you have created your user you will be automatically redirected to the online application.

NOTE: It’s very important that you keep the username and password, as those will be your access credentials for the
whole process.

STEP 2: Online application – Eligibility questions

The first screen of the online application contains the application calendar. Press “Start the application”.

IMPORTANT: The online application has been designed to guide you along the process. Each section contains
explanations about how to fill in the corresponding information. Please read the explanations carefully before
answering the questions. At each section of the online application, you can save the changes so that they are available
the next time you access the system.

ELEGIBILITY QUESTIONS

There are 3 eligibility questions before reaching the application form:

 Eligibility question 1: Do you hold (or will hold on September 202X) an undergraduate/bachelor degree or
equivalent studies that gives you access to Master’s studies in your country?
Admission requirements: Awarded Bachelor of Science degree (180 ECTS) in Agronomy / Agricultural Sciences
or related fields. 180 ECTS usually equal to a 3-year full-time undergraduate/bachelor degree, with at least 4
ECTS in Plant Health or Crop Protection, or equivalent

Note: If you are in the last year of your Bachelor degree, you will have to answer “Yes” to this first eligibility
question.

 Eligibility question 2: Have you already benefitted from an Erasmus Mundus Joint Master Degree
scholarship or an Erasmus Mundus Master Course/Joint Doctorate scholarship?

Select the corresponding option and then click on “Save” to be directed to the next eligibility question.

 Eligibility question 3: Which is your nationality?

Read carefully the question and select the corresponding option.

STEP 3: Application Form

Once completed the eligibility questions you will be addressed to the next section of the application form, that
contains personal, academic and professional information.
You will need to complete all sections.

Fill the mandatory fields and press "Save".

2. Home Institution

3. Academic Background
You should complete one section per each Higher Education studies completed.
On the “Documents upload” section of the application you will have to upload your BSc certificate/Provisional
certificate/Certificate issued by your university, stating that you are in your last year of BSc studies and your
Transcript of Records. If you have also completed Master and/or Doctorate studies, you may upload the
corresponding certificate and transcript of records together with the ones of the BSc.

Part (b): fill it if you hold more than one

4. Professional experience
Please fill the mandatory fields and press "Save".

Please fill the mandatory fields and press "Save".

6. Publications
Please fill the fields, if applicable to you, and press "Save".

7. Referees – contact details


Please fill the mandatory fields for 2 Referees and press "Save".

These referees must be the same ones


signing the 2 “reference letters”
required by the application.

8. Proposed mobility scheme

Please read carefully the explanations and select from the drop-down menu. Then press “Save”.

9. Motivation and added value


Candidates are expected to be succint in their answers. Please take into consideration the limited number of
characters in each box. Once filled in the mandatory fields, press "Save".

10. Documents upload

You are expected to upload the mandatory files in the corresponding boxes.

In the box “Other documents” you can upload any other relevant document.

IMPORTANT:
! Each box accepts only one document. If you would like to upload more than one document in the same box,
first you have to merge those documents into a single one. To merge several PDF documents into one you may
use one online tool, such as:

PDF2Go: https://www.pdf2go.com/

! Each uploaded document must have a maximum size of 1 MB. To reduce the size of a PDF document, there
are several tools available. One is to use Adobe Acrobat and select Print / Print in Adobe PDF / Properties /
Small file. Another is to use specialist software such as https://smallpdf.com/

The Application Form and attached documents should be written in English language, unless otherwise stated in
the corresponding sections, so that all the host institutions may be able to analyse the submitted proposal.

STEP 4: Submit application

After completing all sections of the application, please read carefully and check all the mandatory boxes. Then, you
will be able to submit it by pressing the “Submit application” button

IMPORTANT:
! Please be aware that once submitted it is not possible to make any additional changes. If you would like to
make any changes, you will need to create a new user and start a new application.

! If an applicant submits more than one application, the system will automatically consider the most recent one.

Acknowledgment of receipt
After successful submission of the application, you should receive an email acknowledging receipt of your application.

Selection Results
The list of candidates accepted to participate in the master will be published on the PlantHealth website (“News
section”) http://planthealth.upv.es/
Afterwards, the list of candidates selected for an Erasmus Mundus Scholarship for the master will be published on the
same website.
