1.0 SCOPE

1.1 This procedure is to describe the sequences installation of static


equipment.
1.2 This procedure includes Pressure Vessel, Heat Exchanger, Tower, etc.

2.0 OBJECTIVE

This is to assure that all the installation of static equipment is follow the Codes,
Specification and Client requirements. To maintain the acceptable workmanship
during the installation works.

3.0 REFERENCE

3.1 Vendor Manual or Manufacture recommendation

4.0 RESPONSIBILITIES

4.1 The Construction Manager is responsible to implementing the provisions


of this procedure. He shall ensure that the Quality Control Engineer and
the Client or Vendor Technical Service witness and approved the
alignment check of the inspection required by this procedure and
Inspection & Test Plan (ITP).
4.2 The Quality Engineer is responsible for witnessing the inspection required
by this procedure and assuring that the established requirement are met.

5.0 DESCRIPTION OF WORK PROCEDURE

5.1 Receiving and Storage

5.1.1 All equipment shall be checked on received at site for any damage
and any missing parts from the packing list. If any discrepancies
found shall be reported as described in the material control
procedure. An OSD (Overage, Shortage, Damage) report shall be
prepared for any discrepancies.
5.1.2 Normally these equipments such as Heat Exchangers are has
purging protection with N2. This condition of purging shall be
checked and controlled in weekly period. If the pressure of
purging is decrease or become zero pressure, we shall be reported
to Client, whether the purge will be fill-in again or not.
5.1.3 Care shall be taken to transportation and storage of the equipment
to make sure proper procedures are adopted as per manufactures
recommendations.

5.2 Pre-installation Checks


5.2.1 The foundation to be checked as per the drawing dimensions by
the surveyor and mark the centerline and co ordinates on the
foundation.
5.2.2 Check the anchor bolt for the correct location and straightness
with respect to the equipment.
5.2.3 The surface of the foundation is to be cleaned of all dirt, oil, and
any loose materials and roughened by chipping with brush
hammer before placing the equipment.
5.2.4 The padding plates are to be set-up just beside the anchor bolts or
to suit site condition, except where the bolt is mounted in a
sleeve, then the plates shall be placed as close to the bolts as
possible.
5.2.5 Check the elevation of padding plate by surveyor and correct if
needed, before installation of equipment.
5.2.6 Check the capacity of lifting equipment and rigging plan shall be
prepared and approved before lifting of the equipment.

5.3 Positioning of Equipment

5.3.1 The orientation four position ( 0º, 90º, 180º and 270º ) to be
marked on the equipment for checking orientation as per drawing.
5.3.2 Leveling and verticality shall be done with packing plates and
shims to correct location and elevation and checked with plumb at
least 4 points.
5.3.3 If not specified, maximum plumb not more than 25 mm or 1/200 h
wherever the smaller to be used.
5.3.4 Once the equipment has been set in correct location and elevation
and approved the base can be grouted with approved grouting
materials.
5.3.5 Before grouting, recheck the concrete surface to ensure that it is
free from dirt, oil, grease, or any loose materials.
5.3.6 The surface to be grouted shall be saturated with water for at
least 24 hours in advance. Any free standing water must be
removed before placing the grout.
5.3.7 The excess or protruding liner has to be cut-off and welded
together.
5.3.8 All attachments can be connected to the equipment after the grout
is set as per manufactures instructions.

5.4 Inspection

When equipment has been installed and ready for inspection, the QC
Engineer shall arrange and to invite the Client Representative to witness
and approve the location and orientation check as per Inspection & Test
Plan (ITP).

6.0 DOCUMENTATION

6.1 All Inspection Records shall be filed and documented as per procedure
6.2 After construction works are finished as contract, all original required
documentations as per contract shall be submitted to Client and copied
for our file.
