Introduction

In the landscape of education, teachers serve as the architects of knowledge, the

mentors of growth, and the champions of academic achievement. Within the context of

senior high school, where students stand on the cusp of adulthood and scholarly

independence, the role of teachers takes on heightened significance. As adolescents

navigate the complexities of adolescence and the demands of rigorous academic

pursuits, the guidance and support provided by teachers become indispensable factors

in shaping their educational journey. (Romero, 2019)

As mentioned in the study conducted by Gonzalez (2022), Senior High School

represents a critical juncture in the educational journey of students, marked by

increased academic rigor and the pursuit of higher academic goals. Among the myriad

factors influencing student achievement, the role of teachers stands out as pivotal.

Furthermore, Corro (2018) believed that the myriad of influences on student

success, the influence of teachers stands as a beacon of possibility and potential.

Beyond the confines of textbooks and lesson plans, teachers wield a profound influence

on the intellectual, social, and emotional development of their students. Their words,

actions, and interactions reverberate through the corridors of learning, leaving an

indelible mark on the hearts and minds of those they teach.

However, as indicated in the literature reviewed by Salem (2016), the role of

teachers extends far beyond the confines of traditional pedagogy. In the dynamic

landscape of senior high school education, teachers are called upon to be not only

instructors but also mentors, counselors, and advocates. They are tasked with fostering

an inclusive and supportive learning environment, where every student feels valued,

empowered, and capable of achieving their fullest potential.

This qualitative research endeavors to explore the multifaceted role of teachers

in shaping the academic success of senior high school students. By delving into the

various dimensions of teacher-student interactions, instructional practices, and support

mechanisms, this study seeks to elucidate the impact of teachers on students' academic

performance, engagement, and overall well-being.

Research Objectives

1. To examine the perceptions of senior high school students regarding the role of

teachers in their academic success.

2. To identify the specific teaching practices and strategies employed by teachers

that contribute to the academic success of senior high school students.

3. To explore the challenges and opportunities faced by teachers in fostering

academic success among senior high school students.

1. How do senior high school students perceive the influence of teachers on their

academic achievement and overall educational experience?

challenges?
