Wolfgang Mozart was a very famous musician. He was born in 1756 in Austria. At
age 4, he started playing a keyboard. At age 5, he composed his own musical notes.
A year later, his father began taking him and his sister to perform concerts throughout
Europe. He played the violin, organ and piano.

He worked in Austria for a few years. First, he was an assistant conductor. Later, he
was an organist. During this time, he produced several religious works. He also wrote
his first serious opera. It was first performed in 1781, just after Mozart's 25th
birthday. Later that year, Mozart moved to Vienna. He was successful there as a
pianist and composer.

He wrote many different types of musical notes. During his short life, he wrote more
than 50 symphonies and 15 operas. In Vienna, Mozart wrote some of his best works
for piano and orchestra. During his last years he wrote some of his greatest
symphonies and operas. His most popular operas is (The Magic Flute). Mozart died on
5th of December 1791 in Vienna.

Listening 1:

1- Let’s tell you about these smart people. They are good at math. They usually
use the logic to solve any problem. They like dealing with numbers.

2- Actually, I love these kinds of people because they help the others and can
work and learn easily in groups. Also, they have the ability of understanding
the feeling of others and make them happy.

3- I know that these people are very different and special because they are good
at music. They can play on any musical instruments like violin and guitar. Also,
they enjoy listening to the music and writing musical notes.

4- To be an active person is something interesting. I always want to be like these


people who play sports and do exercises every day. As you know, these people
are usually fit and healthy.

5- Imagine that spending years just to study and learn about the behavior of the
animals just like Jane Goodall who spent her life with chimpanzees. These
people are very unique because they love nature, insects and animals.

Listening 2:

Last summer holiday, Ahmed and his family went to Muscat They stayed with at a
hotel 4 days. They visited many places there. The weather was hot and sunny. In the
first day, they went to the beach to swim and play with the sand. They built forts
and had a barbecue for dinner. They also went to see the dolphins by the boat.
Ahmed’s sister Reem took some photos there. She is an expert photography. Then,
they visited the Al-Alam palace in Matrah which was built in 1772. Next, they went
to Oman Museum to know more about the culture of Oman. Then, they stop at a
restaurant to have lunch. They had rice with fish and some salad. After that, they
visited Marah Land funfair and played lots of games. Finally, they went to the mall.
They bought some clothes and books. They had a very great time in Muscat and they
were all happy.
