COSEC CENTRA: Software Installation (V12R1 and onwards)

Install COSEC CENTRA software application after the successful installation of prerequisites.
COSEC CENTRA is a web-based application. The installer must have the administrator rights of the
Windows system to run the Installer utility.

Basic Requirements:
Operating System – Windows 7 Professional and higher version
Processor for PC – Dual Core and higher
RAM – 2GB and higher
Hard Disk –40GB and higher
Screen Resolution – Minimum 1366*768
Browser – Internet Explorer 9.0 and higher, Mozilla Firefox 24.0 and higher or, Google Chrome 30.0
and higher
Install Prerequisites for COSEC CENTRA Software installation

Installation Steps:
Download the latest COSEC CENTRA software from Matrix Wiki.

Click on Download for the required version.


Note: FTP credentials are necessary to download the software.

After login into Matrix FTP Server, select the COSECInstaller.exe file and save it to the preferred
location in the PC.

Run the COSEC Installer application as Administrator.

Click on Install to start the installation process.


Read and accept the Terms & Conditions, and then click on Next.

Complete: Select this option to install the complete package of COSEC CENTRA software.
Custom: Select this option to install specific components of COSEC CENTRA software.
Select the Complete option.

COSEC CENTRA V12R1 onwards, two separate databases will be created.


1. COSEC Admin Management Portal Database
2. COSEC Database

COSEC ADMIN Portal Database stores the required information on COSEC licenses, COSEC Services
and COSEC Database credentials.

COSEC Database stores the required information regarding Device Events, Device Master data,
User Master data, and other configurations.

Specify the SQL server credential for Admin Portal Database.


If SQL Server is installed on the same server (on which COSEC CENTRA software is installing), then
specify server address as (local)\SQLEXPRESS2012, where SQLEXPRESS2012 is the SQL instance
name registered at the time of Microsoft SQL Server installation.
If SQL Server is installed on a different server, then specify the server address as IP Address or Host
Name of the server\SQLEXPRESS2012.
Select the Authentication as SQL Authentication.
Specify authentication credentials, User Name and Password of the SQL server.

The default database name for Admin Portal DB will be AdminPortalDB. It can be renamed as per
the requirement.

Test the connection to verify successful connectivity.


Keep COSEC Web URL as default for the new installation.
Click Next.

Configure COSEC DB Details same as COSEC Admin Portal DB.


Test the connection to ensure successful connectivity.
Enter Company Details, Name, Email ID and Contact No.

License Verification Mode is used for verifying the licenses.

1. Server Based Licenses: Licenses will be verified from the dongle connected to the PC or the
Server where the COSEC Master Service is installed.
2. Device Based Licenses: Licenses will be verified from the dongle connected to the COSEC Device.
In most cases, select the default License Verification Mode: Server Based.
Click Next.
Installation process will start.

One by one, all the components will be installed.


After the successful installation, click on Exit.
The process of up-gradation will start.

After the successful up-gradation, click OK.


The services’ utilities will be seen on desktop as shown below.
Services will start one by one.

From COSEC V12R1 and onwards, all COSEC Devices, COSEC Web, COSEC Services and COSEC
Database communicate with each other through COSEC Master Service.
Hence, all the services (except COSEC Integrate) will start after COSEC Master Service starts.
Once COSEC Master Service authenticates other COSEC services, they can communicate with COSEC
Database directly, until the session ends.
Go to Services (Run as Administrator) to view the installed COSEC Services.

Services can be started or stopped from the System tray, or from the Services page as shown below.
This completes the installation of COSEC CENTRA software.
Connect the license dongle after the services are launched.
Create the COSEC DB by login into COSEC Admin.
Log in to COSEC Admin by browsing localhost/cosecadmin to establish the main database creation.

Default Database Name will be COSEC and can be changed as desired.


Test the connection to ensure successful connectivity.
Save the configuration. If the database is already created by the application, then it will save directly
and if the Database name is changed, then it will go for saved successfully and submitted for
upgradation.

Log in to COSEC Web by browsing localhost/COSEC as shown below.
