PREFACE
This module is a project of the Curriculum Implementation Division particularly
the Learning Resource Management and Development Section, Department of
Education, Schools Division of Benguet which is in response to the implementation
of the K to 12 Curriculum.

This Learning Material is a property of the Department of Education- CID,


Schools Division of Benguet. It is hope that after completing the module, the Senior
High School learners will be able to realize that an individual forms society in the
same way that society forms a person.

This material can be used in any modes of delivery. It may be used for
homeschooling or regular face to face interaction with the teacher with little to no
supervision from parents or adult or brother or sister. It can also be used for remedial
instruction.

What I Need to Know

Society is nothing without man‘s existence and cooperation. Humanity and


society cannot be detached from each other for they are always in mutual need.
Society builds a person in the same way that individual makes society. We ought to
live in community to grow as individual, however, an individual should be open for
growth for a community to develop. Nevertheless, let us realize that the presence of
society is to serve us and not the other way around.
To understand further about man and society, this learning module is helpful.
It will assist you to recognize how individuals form societies and how individuals are
transformed by societies.
Furthermore, through this module you will be provided with motivating
activities you are going to accomplish to understand the questions: What is society?
How is society formed? How does society influence the development of a person?
