Identification of

Computer Devices
Computer Devices Is Divide Two Parts

HARDWARE AND SOFTWARE

DEVICES
Hardware Devices
Computer hardware is a collective term used to describe any of the physical components of an analog
or digital computer. The term hardware distinguishes the tangible aspects of a computing device from
software, which consists of written, machine-readable instructions or programs that tell physical
components what to do and when to execute the instructions.

Hardware and software are complementary. A computing device can function efficiently and produce
useful output only when both hardware and software work together appropriately.

Computer hardware can be categorized as being either internal or external components. Generally,
internal hardware components are those necessary for the proper functioning of the computer, while
external hardware components are attached to the computer to add or enhance functionality.
Internal Hardware Devices

● Motherboard. This is a printed circuit board that holds the central processing unit (CPU) and other

essential internal hardware and functions as the central hub that all other hardware components

run through.

● CPU. The CPU is the brain of the computer that processes and executes digital instructions from

various programs; its clock speed determines the computer's performance and efficiency in

processing data.

● RAM. RAM -- or dynamic RAM -- is temporary memory storage that makes information

immediately accessible to programs; RAM is volatile memory, so stored data is cleared when the

computer powers off.

● Hard drive. Hard disk drives are physical storage devices that store both permanent and

temporary data in different formats, including programs, OSes, device files, photos, etc.
External Hardware devices
● Mouse. A mouse is a hand-held pointing device that moves a cursor around a computer screen and enables
interaction with objects on the screen. It may be wired or wireless.
● Keyboard. A keyboard is an input device featuring a standard QWERTY keyset that enables users to input
text, numbers or special characters.
● M
● icrophone. A microphone is a device that translates sound waves into electrical signals and supports
computer-based audio communications.
● Camera. A camera captures visual images and streams them to the computer or through a computer to a
network device.
● Touchpad. A touchpad is an input device, external or built into a laptop, used to control the pointer on a
display screen. It is typically an alternative to an external mouse.
● USB flash drive. A USB flash drive is an external, removable storage device that uses flash memory and
interfaces with a computer through a USB port.
Software devices
Software Device means any device, whether now known or unknown, on or
by which computer software and its associated visual images, with or
without sound, may be embodied or recorded for later operation,
manipulation or communication to users, including without limitation
semiconductor devices, compact discs (or other type of optical disc), ROM
Cartridges, cassettes, or magnetic discs (whether floppy or otherwise) of
any size, tapes, cartridges, boards, cassettes, or other prerecorded devices
whatsoever existing now or later developed by which a computer or video
game can be perceived, reproduced or otherwise communicated directly or
with the aid of a machine or device and which are designed and used for
use with the Game Machines.
Software devices
There are two types of software

System Software And Application

Software
System Software
System software is software that provides a platform for other software. Some examples can be
operating systems, antivirus software, disk formatting software, computer language translators,
etc. These are commonly prepared by computer manufacturers. This software consists of
programs written in low-level languages, used to interact with the hardware at a very basic level.
System software serves as the interface between the hardware and the end users.
System software refers to the collection of programs and software components that enable a
computer or computing device to function properly. It acts as an intermediary between the user
Some common types of system software include operating systems (such as Windows, macOS, or
Linux), device drivers, utility programs, programming languages, and system libraries.
Operating systems are the most important type of system software, as they provide the
foundational framework for all other software and applications to run on the computer. They
manage computer resources, such as memory and processing power, and provide a user interface
for users to interact with the system. Device drivers are another important type of system
software, as they allow the operating system to communicate with hardware devices such as
printers, scanners, and graphics cards. .
Application Software
A computer is a piece of electronic equipment. Because it is powered by electricity, it is referred
to as an electronic device. It accepts data, processes it, and outputs the appropriate results. The
output of a computer system is also known as the result of the computer system. The computer
system is commonly used nowadays. It is employed in a variety of fields due to its quick
processing, data storage, data or information accessibility, data transmission, communication
methods, and instant connectivity.
The basic structure of the computer system includes major devices like Input Devices (mouse,
keyboard, joystick, microphone, camera, etc.) CPU (Central Processing Unit) Output Devices
(Monitors and printers, etc.) help to run the computer system smoothly.
A programmed set of instructions used to perform a given task is referred to as software. Users
are unable to see the software. Users are only able to realize and validate their functions. The
hardware runs all of the software. The two main categories of software are system software and
application software. The most widely used computer software is the Operating System
(Windows, Linux, Ubuntu, etc.) and Microsoft Office (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
