I. CURRICULUM CONTENT, STANDARDS, AND LESSON COMPETENCIES

A. Content Standards The learners demonstrate knowledge and understanding of
regular and irregular polygons and their features/properties;
and determination of measures of angles and the number of
sides of polygons.
B. Performance By the end of the quarter, the learners are able to draw, and
Standards describe the features/properties of, regular and irregular
polygons.
C. Learning The learners draw triangles, quadrilaterals, and regular
Competencies polygons (5, 6, 8, or 10 sides) with given angle measures.
D. Learning The learners will be able to:
Objectives a. define the different types of triangles.
b. classify triangles based on their sides and angles.
c. draw triangles with given angle and side measures.

IV. TEACHING AND LEARNING PROCEDURES
Before/Pre-Lesson Proper
Activating Prior Activity 1: Make and Measure the Triangles!
Knowledge The teacher will group the class into 2. Group 1 will be given
nine strips with varying lengths and make three different
triangles (3 equal sides, 2 equal sides and 1 different side
and 3 different sides). Group 2 will measure the interior
angles using the given three triangles. (See Activity 1
Worksheet)
Note: For Group 2, the teacher may use other
triangles if the provided figures are not clear.
Lesson Prompt the following:
Purpose/Intention 1. How do the sides of the given triangles compare to
each other? (Group 1)
2. How do the angles in the given triangles differ from
one another? (Group 2)
Lesson Language Unlocking Vocabulary!
Practice a. interior angle
b. line segment

Activity 2: I Am a Triangle!
Directions: Match the terms under Column A to its
corresponding definitions under Column B.

During/Lesson
Proper
Reading the Key Use the output of Activity 2, “I Am a Triangle”, to discuss the
Idea/Stem different types of triangles. Moreover, the teacher will discuss
how to draw these triangles with given angle measures and
side lengths.
Developing Activity 3: Draw!
Understanding of the The students will pair up and draw triangles with given angle
Key Idea/Stem measures and side lengths. (See Activity Sheet 3)
Prompt the following questions:
1. How do you draw a triangle when you are given the
lengths of all three sides?
2. How do you draw a triangle when you are given two
angles and the length of the side between them?
3. Can you identify and name the types of triangles you
have drawn?

Deepening Activity 4: We Must Connect!

Understanding of the The students perform the activity.
Key Idea/Stem
Question for Reflection:
What challenges did you encounter while constructing
different types of triangles on the grid?
How did you overcome them?

After/Post-Lesson
Proper
Making What are the different types of triangles?
Generalizations and How did understanding of the side lengths and angle
Abstractions measures help you in constructing accurate triangles?
Evaluating Learning Answer the Worksheet.
Additional Activities Triangles in the Real-Worl!
for Application or Ask the learners to capture images of various triangles in
Remediation (if their surroundings. Use Microsoft Word, Excel, or PowerPoint
applicable) to create a creative collage showcasing these triangles.
