entitlement for technical services provided in connection to resolving problems arising from cyber-attack or
other unauthorized accesses to ComAp's Products or Services.
General security recommendations and set of measures
1. AccessCode
• Change the AccessCode BEFORE the device is connected to a network.
• Use a secure AccessCode – ideally a random string of 8 characters containing lowercase, uppercase letters
and digits.
• For each device use a different AccessCode.
2. Password
• Change the password BEFORE the device enters a regular operation.
• Do not leave displays or PC tools unattended if an user, especially administrator, is logged in.
3. Controller Web interface
• The controller web interface at port TCP/80 is based on http, not https, and thus it is intended to be used only
in closed private network infrastructures.
• Avoid exposing the port TCP/80 to the public Internet.
4. MODBUS/TCP
• The MODBUS/TCP protocol (port TCP/502) is an instrumentation protocol designed to exchange data
between locally connected devices like sensors, I/O modules, controllers etc. From it’s nature it does not
contain any kind of security – neither encryption nor authentication. Thus it is intended to be used only in
closed private network infrastructures.
• Avoid exposing the port TCP/502 to the public Internet.
5. SNMP
• The SNMP protocol (port UDP/161) version 1,2 is not encrypted. Thus it is intended to be used only in
closed private network infrastructures.
• Avoid exposing the port UDP/161 to the public Internet.

1.3.1 Dangerous voltage
In no case touch the terminals for voltage and current measurement!
Always connect grounding terminals!
In any case do not disconnect controller CT terminals!

IMPORTANT: Before using please be sure that the external power source (socket) for StarterKit is
equipped with an Overcurrent protection that is based dimension and parameters of the
connection.

2 System overview
StarterKit is dedicated for the simulation of basic application using ComAp controller InteliGen 1000 (IG1000).
StarterKit allows to simulate various states of mains, Gen-set, network elements (especially breakers) and
other devices. StarterKit also enable basic user connection for monitoring and configuration from the front
panel of StarterKit.
For more possibilities of simulation it is a need of advanced configuration.

3.1.4 Simulator control
The Um lever is dedicated to a simulation of Mains fail.
StarterKit also allows you to set up the level of:

Um Mains Voltage
Ugen Generator voltage
Igen Generator current (and Power)
RPM Engine RPM and Generator frequency

3.2 StarterKit first launch guidelines

1. Connect the power wire to a power socket
2. Turn on the power switch
3. START/STOP the simulator
Manually via START/STOP Buttons – when the controller is switched to MAN mode
Automatically – For activation of the SK in AUT mode, you should activate BIN 3: Remote Start/Stop.
4. Starting process
During the starting procedure a StarterKit operator should change values manually according to the
controller configuration.
RPM – RPM must be set to nominal RPM via RPM potentiometer

OIL PRESSURE – Oil pressure has to be set above the Shutdown protection Setpoint level.

U GEN – Generator voltage must be set to nominal voltage via UGen potentiometer

I GEN – Generator current must be set to nominal current via IGen potentiometer
More detailed information is available in the "Engine running conditions" chapter in theGlobal Guide.

3.3 Custom configuration

For your own configuration tests, you need to change the configuration in the following way:
