HYPERLOOP

INTRODUCTION

● Hyperloop is a new mode of transport

● A hyperloop is a system to “build a tube over or under the ground that contains a
special environment.” Cars would basically be propelled in this tube. One example
could be a huge sort of pneumatic tube where high-speed fans would compress and
push the air although the friction
HYPERLOOP CONCEPT

● Hyperloop is a new mode of transport that seeks to change this paradigm by being
both fast and inexpensive for people and goods.
● It is the fifth mode generation of transportation.
● Hyperloop consists of a low pressure tube with capsules that are transported at both
low and high speeds throughout the length of the tube .
● A high-speed train that promises travel at twice the speed of a commercial aircraft,
● This system can achieve an average speed of 962 km/h, and a top speed of 1,220
km/h.
Whose Idea???

● The hyperloop was proposed by Elon Musk , He is currently the CEO & CTO of
SpaceX and CEO & Chief Product Architect of Tesla Motors.
● The Hyperloop concept has been explicitly "open-sourced" by Musk and SpaceX, and
others have been encouraged to take the ideas and further develop them.
COMPONENTS OF HYPERLOOP
TUBES-The tube is made of steel. Two tubes will be welded together in a side by side
configuration to allow the capsules to travel both directions.

CAPSULE-Sealed capsules carrying 28 passengers each that travel along the interior of
the tube
WORKING PRINCIPLE

● The capsule would accelerate to cruising speed gradually using a linear electric motor and
glide above their track using passive magnetic levitation.
● It is levitated and propelled forward using powerful electromagnets. This itself
considerably reduces losses due to friction, as the train is literally gliding over the track
and is not in contact with the track. Hence there are no frictional losses allowing the train
to move at high velocities. The absence of air in the hyperloop will further increase the
efficiency.
● The air pressure in the tube is very low, a capsule traveling at 1200 kmph will cause
significant air pressure at the nose of the vehicle, which must be considered in the design.
Since the tube has a larger cross-section than the capsule, some air flows around the
vehicle. Even so, compressor fans that actively transfer air from the front to the rear of the
capsule must be installed.
HYPERLOOP INDIA
Mumbai -Pune Hyperloop
● The recent announcement between the Maharashtra government signed and MoU you
with the British Millionaire Richard Branson Virgin group to build Mumbai Pune
Hyperloop
● It will cut the travel time between Mumbai Pune to 25 minutes from the 3 hours now
takes by road The first phase of the 15-km Hyperloop track in Pune, from Balewadi to
Gahunje, will serve as the testing track for passenger movement

● According to some point shared

by the Richard Branson this
system will connect 26 million
people and support 150 million
passenger trip per year.
● the Mumbai Pune route could result in Rs 3,50,000 Crore in “ Socio economic
benefits, time saving , accident reduction and operational cost saving over 30 years of
operation”
● the route will 100% electric and could reduce the greenhouse gas emission of to
86000 the route over 30 years
● According to the PMRDA, more than 3 lakh commuters and 1.10 vehicles —
including 80,000 buses and 6,000 cars — travel between the two cities every
day.PMRDA estimates indicate an approximate 3,00,000 passengers commuting
between Mumbai and Pune everyday.
● Once complete, the Hyperloop route between Mumbai and Pune is reported to be
capable of ferrying 5,000 passengers between the two cities, every day. At present.
● The cost between Rs. 400 and 1600 per ticket for a passenger to make the journey.
# Advantage # Disadvantage

● Low cost than high speed trains ● Tube pressurization

● High speed than all other ● Less movable space for passengers
transportation methods Turning will be critical
● More convenient ● No answer for equipment
● Immune to weather malfunction, accidents, emergency
● Sustainable self powering evacuation
● Environmentally friendly
Conclusion
● Hyperloop is a new idea of solar powered transportation system with high speed of up
to 1220 kmph
● As it has number of advantages it will very helpful for transport public as well as
goods in a very short time and also in low cost
● It is new concept so there is some future work will be required for development of
this project
