Important Note:
A
Placement season observes presence of Niche/ product role offering companies on campus along with IT
services profiles. Students are advised to be well prepared and grab these opportunities at the earliest. In
‘ase if a student is only placed in an IT service role and not able to crack the niche offers, the placement
department will continue to support further for the same.
Once you are placed in an IT Services profile, the decision of allowing a particular student for a niche
opportunity depends on various parameters like job profile, CTC and number of students yet to be placed
at that time, however the final decision depends at the discretion of the management.
You will have two choices to skip a particular company based on the choice of profile, CTC. Post missing two
recruitment drives, the placement support will be permanently withdrawn.
In case a candidate fails to clear the initial selection process of three companies consecutively, he/she will
have to appear for the qualifier aptitude test for further continuation of internship/placement support.
On the day of selection, the companies may issue LOI (Letter of Intent) to you. The actual offer letter will be
shared by them at a date closer to your joining. The release of offer letters and joining dates are subjective
to parameters such as their business needs at the time of joining as well as training and certification status.
If the student fails to comply with the documentation, verification, training and certification, the offer will
stand cancelled.
Post your selection, organizations may start your online training program, certifications to make you
industry ready. These training modules should be completed with due diligence prior to your joining.
Keeping in view the cost of training and retain prospective candidates, itis observed that many recruiters
have retention bond/ agreement/ service agreement. Since all you are fresher’s, you are liable to comply
with the company terms.
Post your recruitment, the company may share the offer letters to you directly or via the placement cell. In
case you receive the letters directly, you are required to submit a copy of the same to the Placement
department. Falling to do so, the college management may initiate the process of withdrawal of the offers.
For further follow-up regarding joining dates or any other query, students should directly follow-up with the
company HR's after the academic year is over.
On any day, if there are multiple recruitment drives, students must participate in all the recruitment drives
where he/she is eligible as per the criteria given by the company or as instructed by the B Tech/ B Tech

17, Major Shi
in IT Hiring process:
Most of the top IT companies like TCS, Infosys, Wipro used to rely completely on campus recruitment.
Recent trends show that they have reduced going on campus and shifted their focus from campus
recruitments to using technology platforms via the National Level Qualifier Assessments.
You will be competing with students of not only your own college but the students of nationwide colleges.
For this process, they might or might not visit the campus for conducting the pre-assessments and personal
interview rounds. They empanel a few colleges as their nodal centres to conduct the online test and
interviews. Itis imperative for the students to attend the interviews in the allocated centres.
The placement cell will share your details with the companies; based on which you will receive registration
links. All the students have to ensure that they register and share the registration acknowledgement with
the placement cell for further tracking. Failing to send the same, will lead to assumptions that you are
further not interested to apply for those companies and we will discontinue further placement assistance.
Students to note that all these opportunities are initiated from campus and the placement team will support
your candidature throughout the process and post selection. You are accountable to forward all the
communication emails received directly from the company. Failing to forward the emails, will lead to
discontinued placement assistance.
These companies can offer you a basic IT services role or differential hiring or product role with a higher
CIC. Differential hiring role will be considered as a “Niche” offer and no further placement opportunities
will be extended to you.
If you are placed in a basic IT services role, you will not be allowed to participate for other IT services roles.
Many companies have started recruiting students who perform well in Hackathons/Coding
competitions/Programming contests/Case studies competitions organized by the company.
Some organizations may require the students to travel to their office for the recruitment process that will
be communicated to students as and when the information comes to the placement cell. The students are
expected to make their own travel and other arrangements unless otherwise informed by the organization
concerned,
Companies that visit the campus to hire do not offer a job/ training location preference; even if it is
mentioned in the pre placement talk or personal interviews, it totally depends on the business needs at the
time of joining of new recruits
18, Letter Of Recommendation (LOR):
If a student is planning for a Master’s degree, he/she has to inform the placement department / HOD’s well
in advance ie. at the beginning of the sixth semester
Letterheads for the purpose of LOR will be issued by the Placement Department/ HOD's
LOR will be issued based on the role for which the student has been selected during the campus placements
Ifa student has applied for LOR and still wants to opt in for Placements, he/she will only be allowed to
participate in “IT Services Profile.”
Students who are placed in “Niche” profiles, will not be provided LOR’s from the college.i. IMUKESH PATEL SCHOOL OF
