Starting MS-word
First way
1. Click search box then type Run.
2. Choose Run
Second way
1. Right click on the desktop
2. Choose new
3. Click Microsoft Word Document
Exiting Microsoft word
1. Save the document before you exit
2. Click File, click close or exit word or X
Creating a blank document
1. Click Microsoft office button, and then click new
2. Click blank document, and then click create
Saving document
1. Click file and then click save
2. Keyboard shortcut to save the file, press CTRL+S
Closing an open document
Click file, and then click close.
Opening the existing document
1. Click file, and then click open.
2. Keyboard shortcut to display the open dialog box
or recently documents, press CTRL+O
3. Click the folder, drive that contains the file that you want to open

Tap key Add new rows at the bottom of the table
Shift tab Move to preceding cell
Up arrow or down arrow Move to proceeding or next row
ALT +HOME or Alt +7 Move to the first cell in the rows
Alt +End or Alt +1 Move to the last cell in the row
Alt +page up or Alt +9 Move to the first cell in the column
Alt +Page down or Alt+3 Move to the last cell in the column
Note: Number lock must be off when you are using those numbers
Delete columns or rows from table
1. Select the columns or rows you want to delete
2. Click layout, click delete, and then click either rows or columns
Delete a table and it’s contents
1. Place the cursor in the table
2. Click layout click delete table
Text direction
1. Select the Table fields you want.
2. Click layout, in the alignment group, clicks text direction.
Changing column width
1. Place the cursor in the column you want to change
2. Click layout tab, click the cell size Arrow
3. Check preferred check box and choose the size you want, choose the measurement
(inches or present), and then click ok.
Changing row height
1. Place the cursor in the row you want to change
2. Click layout tab, click the cell size arrow.
3. Check specify height check box, choose the measurement, and click ok
Spelling cells
1. Select the cells you want to split
2. Click layout, then click split cells
3. In the split box type a number of rows & column you want, click ok.

Merging cells
1. Select the cells you want to merge
2. Click layout, click merge cells
Splitting table
1. Place the data in table
2. Click layout, click split table
Converting a table to a text
1. Select the data in table
2. Click layout, click convert table
3. Select the tab check box, and then click ok
Converting text to table
1. Select the text
2. Click insert tab, click table
3. Click convert text to table, ok
Automatically formatting a table
1. Place the curser in the table you want to format
2. Under table tools, click the design tab
3. Select the option you want then click ok

1. Type your document
2. Click file then click print and choose the the printers’ name.
