As shown in CP Form 1, Similar to the other schools in the Municipality of Mataasnakahoy that are situated along the beaches of Taal
Lake, Paaralang Elementarya ng Calingatan is subject to five (5) natural risks. Because the School is located inside a 14-kilometer danger zone,
it can be deemed risky in the event of a volcanic eruption, particularly if the explosion occurs on the side of Taal Volcano Island, also known as
a base surge eruption. When the Taal Volcano erupted, significant damage to the school and its buildings was predicted. The following are
additional risks to be aware of: earthquakes, fire, volcanic haze, and tropical cyclones.

As shown in CP Form 1, The school is exposed to five (5) natural hazards like the other schools in the Municipality of
Mataasnakahoy that are located on the shores of Taal Lake. Upa Primary School can be considered dangerous from volcanic
eruptions because it is contained in a 14-kilometer danger zone, especially and more so if the eruption will take place on the
side part of the Taal Volcano Island or what we call base surge eruption. High cost of damage to school and its facilities are
expected when Taal Volcano erupted.
Other hazards to watch out are as follows: tropical cyclone, volcanic smog, earthquake and fire.
C. Hazard to Plan for: Taal Volcano Eruption

The SDRRM team of Paaralang Elementarya ng Calingatan, Mataasnakahoy Batangas will have to prepare for the worst
– case scenario as seen in Table D. In this case, the school would be experiencing delay and danger in facilitation of
evacuation from learners and teachers due to sudden event of base surge in lowland part of the municipality.
However, in worst case scenarios, response capabilities through Brgy. Upa and LGU Mataasnakahoy will connect to
other response capabilities.

In the event of a Taal Volcano eruption. Paaralang Elementarya ng Calingatan in Mataasnakahoy, Batangas, the
affected breakdown of learners and teachers would typically involve the following factors:
1. Ashfall Impact: Ashfall can affect a wider region, including barangays beyond the immediate evacuation
zones. The severity of ashfall and its impact on communities would depend on wind direction, eruption
intensity, and duration. People in these areas may also need to evacuate or take precautions to protect their
health.

2. Distance from the Volcano: Barangays located farther from the volcano might experience less immediate
danger but could still be affected by ashfall, disruption of utilities, and transportation issues.

3. Vulnerable Populations: Vulnerable populations such as the elderly, children, and individuals with health
conditions may require special attention and assistance during evacuations.

4. Temporary Shelter Needs: Evacuated populations would require temporary shelter, food, clean water, and
medical services. Emergency shelters, like schools or community centers, may be set up to accommodate
those displaced by the eruption.

Evacuation Routes: The road network and accessibility to evacuation routes play a crucial role in determining how
quickly and safely people can evacuate from affected areas. It's important to note that the specific breakdown of
affected populations would vary depending on the eruption's characteristics and local preparedness measures.
During such events, local authorities, disaster management agencies, and humanitarian organizations work
together to assess the situation, provide support, and ensure the safety and well-being of the affectected
population

A. GOAL

To Establish an effective, timely, coordinated, and efficient response mechanism is the aim of the contingency plan in the case of
a volcanic eruption close to Upa Primary School. These techniques will contribute to the preservation of human life, property, and
the environment by restoring the immediate needs of the affected students, faculty, and stakeholders.

The contingency Planning will uphold and imposes the development of policies that will protect and ensure people
constitutional rights to life and property by adopting standard safety measures, policies and guidelines.

B. General Objective(s)

The Volcanic Eruption Contingency Plan, which Paaralang Elementarya ng Calingatan implemented, provides information on how to be
ready for emergencies and their possible humanitarian effects.

 Ensure the protection of lives of the pupils, faculty of Paaralang Elementarya ng Calingatan and
properties in the event of volcanic eruption
 Give knowledge and understanding about the precautionary measures before, during and after an
eruption

 Prepare learners and personnel for any related hazard may occur
 Determine the immediate needs and the resources that will meet the needs in the event of volcanic
eruption;
 Give teachers knowledge and understanding about their respective roles (SDRMM Management Team)
 Establish coordination and linkages between and among the stakeholders in the event of volcanic
eruption;
 Coordination with the barangay and MDRRMO.
