    Your daily routine!


    Can you describe your daily routine?
    How many new verbs have you learned so far?

    • I wake up at 6 AM. (acordar)


    • I brush my teeth. (escovar)
    • I take off my pajamas/ pyjamas and … (tirar)
    • ..I put on my clothes. (vestir-colocar)
    • I have a delicious breakfast. (tomar café da manhã)
    • I love breakfast. (amar)
    • I eat a slice of bread and some fruit. (comer)
    • I drink black coffee.(beber)
    • I do some exercises. (fazer)
    • I listen to the radio. (ouvir)
    • I start work at 7 AM. (começar)
    • I have lunch at 12 PM. (almoçar)
    • I start work again at 2 PM. (começar)
    • I finish work at 6 PM. (terminar)
    • I eat dinner and…(jantar)
    • … I play with my daughter.(brincar)
    • I take a shower and…(tomar banho)
    • … I go to bed at 10PM. (ir para a cama)
    And, he/ she/ it – “-s” (acrescentamos o “s” no verbo)

    Examples:

    • She does some exercises. (fazer)


    • She listens to the radio. (ouvir)
    • She starts work at 7 AM.(começar)
    • She has lunch at 12 PM. (ter)
    • She starts work again at 2 PM. (começar)

    • My daughter likes milk. (gostar)


    • The sun rises in the east. (surgir/ subir)
    • My dog barks all day. (latir)
    • My father works in an office. (trabalhar)
    • The president manages the company. (gerenciar)

    Fill in the blanks using the correct form of the verbs in the present simple:

    start – work – speak – think – forget – go – manage – eat – listen – live

    • What do you do in the afternoon?
    • What do you do in the evening?

    Spelling rule: (Regra de escrita)

    Para a maioria dos verbos, acrescentamos -s para as formas she, he, it


    (terceira pessoa do singular):

    • Come – comes
    • Eat – eats
    • Travel – travels
    • Move – moves
    Quando o verbo termina em -ch, -ss, -sh, -x or -zz, acrescentamos -es:

    • Watch – watches
    • Dress – dresses
    • Wash – washes
    • Buzz – buzzes

    Quando o verbo termina em consoante + y, trocamos o y para i e


    acrescentamos -es.

    • Study – studies
    • Cry – cries
    • Reply – replies

    Quando o verbo termina em vogal + y, mantemos o y e acrescentamos -s.

    • Play – plays
    • Enjoy – enjoys

    Os verbos go, do, have e be ficam assim:

    • Go – goes
    • Do - does
    • Have – has
    • Be – is
