9. How do you reset a switch (to bring it to factory default)


(a) Manually
i. Locate the reset button or pin hole on the back or side of the switch.
ii. Use a small pin, paper clip or other pointed tool to press and hold the reset
button for ten to fifteen seconds.
iii. Release a reset button then the switch will begin the reset process.

Displays a list of available commands in the user EXEC mode.

Displays a list of available options for setting system clock on a switch.

Displays the available interface types that can be configured in a switch

11. Run the following useful “show” commands interpret the outcomes
(a) Switch#show run
This command displays the current configuration of the switch. It shows how the
switch is currently configured, including interfaces, VLANs, routing protocols,
etc.

(b) Switch#show interfaces


This command provides detailed information about all interfaces on the switch,
including their status, protocol, speed, and any errors or collisions.
(c) Switch#show vlan
This command displays information about the VLANs configured on the switch,
including their IDs, names, and associated ports.

(d) Switch#show interface status


This command gives a summary of all interfaces on the switch, including their status
(up/down), VLAN membership, and speed/duplex settings.
(e) Switch#show mac address-table
This command shows the MAC address table of the switch, which maps MAC addresses
to specific ports on the switch.

(f) Switch#show users


This command displays information about users currently logged into the switch.

(g) Switch#show users all


This command displays detailed information about all the users logged into the
switch, including their username, connection type, and idle time.
(h) Switch#show hosts
This command displays the list of hosts (devices) that the switch has learned about
through its interfaces.
(i) What is show version command in Cisco switch? Run the command

(n) What is show ip interface brief command in Cisco switch? Run the command
This command provides a summary of the IP addresses configured on all
interfaces of the switch, along with their status and protocol information.
12. Configure a switch so that 5 users can login using their own credentials, one user at
a time. That is, on the same single switch, you can create different accounts for
different users to login. Note: this will allow a single user to login using his or her
username and password.
