This study aims to investigate the effectiveness rainwater harvesting systems in

promoting sustainable water management, specifically in Western Philippines

University. The research will involve the collection and analysis of both
quantitative and qualitative data to evaluate the performance and impact of
rainwater harvesting systems in mitigating water scarcity and reducing
dependence on traditional water sources.

The study expects to provide valuable insights into the effectiveness of rainwater
harvesting systems as a sustainable water management strategy in Western
Philippines University, Puerto Princesa City Campus. The findings will inform
researchers, school staff, and students about the benefits, challenges, and
potential areas for improvement in implementing and maintaining rainwater
harvesting systems.
Research Design
This Research is both Qualitative and Quantitative research. Quantitative because
it is the process of collecting and analyzing numerical data to describe the
experience of the students on harvesting rainwater and make it useful and how the
using of rainwater reach their satisfaction and qualitative research because it
emphasizes exploring depth and complexity of human behavior specifically the 2 nd
year students. We observe how does harvesting rainwater is very essential to
them, and what was their perception about the Rainwater harvesting system

Research Locale

The study was conducted at Western Philippine University (College of Education)

This place was selected for conserving sustainable water by Rainwater harvesting
system through collecting rain water for practical uses. This study has been
implemented on Students of College of Education 2nd year level. This study has
tested how effectiveness of using rainwater as daily uses instead of using water
coming from the faucet. The research implemented inside the campus of WPU at
the College of Education Building.

Research Method

This study aims to discuss the instrument and they have a process involves in
Rainwater
Harvesting (RWH).
Rainwater Harvesting technique, collecting of water in a surface of roof, conveying
the water
through pipes and enter in conduits from catchment to suitable storage tank and
storing the
water properly and it's near located at roof side, it's simple strategy which those
rainfall water
will be gathered and stored for emergency usage. The water from the roof side of
the one institute building of College of Education was chosen to be an area of
ground reservation of the artificial tank. This artificial design system of Rainwater
Harvester will collect by the pipes from runoff rainwater and they flow in the tank
which is the artificial man-made tank system.
Data Gathering Procedure

This study aims to conduct in Academic Year 2023-2024 at Western Philippines

University,
Puerto Princesa Campus in the College of Education and will consider the
following gathering
procedure. This section will be used in gathering the needed data for the study,
Firstly the researchers will draft a questionnaire and then will be validated the
researchers in this field. Then the researcher will ask a permission to conduct the
study by writing formally to the rightful authorities of Western Philippines
University Puerto Princesa Campus at the College of Education, where the study
will be conducted. During the month of November, planning on the context and
procedure of the study was done. Including in the planning where the preparation
of source of data in surveying respondents were included in the study, formulation
of question statement regarding the study was also done on the month of
November.
The Research will securing to approved letter to conduct the study. Upon approval,
the
researcher will conduct a survey to the respondents by distributing the
questionnaire will be
answered briefly and concisely by the respondents after the returned
questionnaire, the data will
collected and classified. The results of the study will be identified as proof of this
research study.
