Aim -: Introduction and Installation:

Overview:

Introduction:

Linux is an open-source operating system kernel that serves as the foundation


for various distributions, like Ubuntu and Fedora. It’s known for its stability,
security, and flexibility, making it popular for servers, desktops, and embedded
systems. Linux supports a wide range of hardware and software, and its
development is driven by a global community of contributors. Its command-
line interface and extensive customization options appeal to both developers
and power users.
Architecture :

Booting process of Linux.

Step 01-

First we have to download Fedora ISO image.

Visit the official Fedora Project download page and download the live ISO file of
the latest release.
Now Download and Install VirtualBox

 Step 01 –

 Installing VirtualBox – To Install Virtual Box go on its official website


and select and download
 It will be shown in the download folder .

 Step 02 - Install the Dowloaded file in your system and once it


gets installed it looks like this :-

Creating a Fedora Virtual Machine

 Step 03 –

Open VirtualBox, and select New

 Step 04 –
Then, add a name for your virtual machine, set its installation location, and select Fedora live ISO
image. Click on Next.
 Step 05 –

Allocate RAM (Base Memory) and CPU cores for your VM. Select the
desired setting and click Next

 Step 06

Allocate virtual hard disk size for the VM. Click on Next
 Step 06 –

A final summary will be shown depicting Machine name,Machine folder and OS type
Click finish and end the process

 The newly created VM will be added to the VirtualBox Manager.

After installing Linux on VirtualBox, you would have learned several key concepts
and skills:
Linux Installation and Configuration:
o Installation Process: Gained experience with installing a Linux distribution,
including partitioning disks, configuring user accounts, and selecting software
packages.
o
o VirtualBox Setup: Learned how to configure a virtual machine (VM) within
VirtualBox, including adjusting settings for memory, storage, and network
adapters.
