ART

APPRECIATION

REPORTING
Presented by: Wendyl & Cjay
CREATIVITY,
IMAGINATION,
AND
EXPRESSION.
ART
APPRECIATION
AS A WAY OF
LIFE
Jean-Paul Sartre viewed art as a
creative work that reflects the world in
a different light, originating from
human freedom. Each artwork
possesses unique beauty, but many
are overlooked. Only those with a fine
appreciation can truly appreciate it,
allowing for deeper understanding of
its purpose and its inherent beauty
experiences.
THE ROLE OF
CREATIVITY IN
ART MAKING
Creativity in art involves thinking outside the
box, solving unique problems, and making
life more enjoyable.

Being creative today can be challenging, as

ideas may be allegedly plagiarized from
other artists.

• A creative artist does not simply copy or

imitate another artist work.
ART AS A PRODUCT OF
IMAGINATION,
IMAGINATION AS A
PRODUCT OF ART
Imagination is the foundation of ideas in
the human mind, as it allows for the
creation of bold, new, and improved
solutions.

Art also inspires imagination, as seen in

empty rooms with blank walls and floors.

Imagination is a powerful force that

drives creativity and innovation
ART AS EXPRESSION
Robin George Collingwood, an
English philosopher who is best
known for his work in aesthetics,
explicated in his publication The
Principles of Art (1938) that what
an artist does to an emotion is not
to induce it, but express it.
Through expression, he is able to
explore his own emotions and at
the same time, create something
beautiful out of them.
VISUAL ARTS
Creations that fall under this category are
those that appeal to the sense of sight and are
mainly visual in nature. Artists produce visual
arts driven by their desire to reproduce things
that they have seen in the way that they
perceived them (Collins & Riley, 1931)

Example of visual arts include: painting,

drawings, sculpture and digital imaging.ing.
FILM ARTS
Filmmaking is the art of creating motionless images using
techniques like motion-picture cameras, animation, and
Computer-Generated Imagery.

It aims to simulate experiences beyond our

imagination, delivering ideas, feelings, or beauty to
viewers through the delivery of ideas and
emotions.
PERFORMANCE ART
Performance art is a live art and the
artist's medium is mainly the human body
which he or she uses to perform, but also
employs other kind of art such as visual
art, props, or sound.

The fact that performance art is live makes

it intangible, which means it cannot be
bought or traded as a commodity, unlike
the previously discussed art expressions.
POETRY PERFORMACE
Poetry is an art form where an
artist expresses emotions
through words, using emotional,
musical, and spatial values
beyond literal meaning. The
poem's artistic value is enhanced
by movements, tone, volume, and
intensity. Some poets even create
poems from emotions picked up
from other art forms, creating
another work of art.
ACHITECTURE
Art and architecture are both about creating
beautiful things, but not all buildings are
beautiful. For instance, the Grand Théâtre de
Bordeaux is a masterpiece that combines
functionality with striking balance of lines,
colors, and shapes.
DANCE
Dance is a creative art form that allows
individuals to freely express themselves
through movements following music. It is
a creative form that allows dancers to
create and invent their own movements,
as long as they find them graceful and
beautiful.
LITERARY ART
Literary art involves artists using words to
express themselves and communicate
emotions to readers. It goes beyond
professional writing and focuses on
unique styles, including fiction and non-
fiction works. Famous literary artists
include Antoine de Saint-Exupéry's The
Little Prince and William Shakespeare's
Romeo and Juliet.
THEATER
Theater art uses live performers to present
imaginary events to a live audience, following
a script and considering elements like acting,
gesture, lighting, sound effects, musical score,
scenery, and props. Participation from the
audience is crucial in theater, with genres
including drama, musical, tragedy, comedy.
APPLIED ARTS
Applied arts involves
incorporating style and design
into everyday items, such as
industrial design, interior design,
fashion design, and graphic
design. Artists combine
functionality and style through
exploration, expression, and
careful material and technique
choices.
