Background and Rationale:

The project is designed to develop the ability of Grade 3 learners in
numeracy, particularly in the four fundamental operations. It is a
project designed for struggling learners to learn how to read 3 - 6
digits, compute basic operations and solve simple problem solving
involving 2 operations. It is composed of different strategies that
can help them to master reading numbers, solving problem with
basic
operations for their level.

Objective:
To attain 58 % or 106 out of 180 Grade 3 learners (intervention) to
become consolidation by April 2024.

Indicative Project Schedule:

Stage Schedule Resources Needed

Conduct RMA and pre- October 2023 Assessment tools
test.
Determine learner’s November 2023
numeracy level.
Intervention Program November 2023- Learning/ Intervention
April 2024 Materials.
Conduct RMA and post- May 2024 Assessment tools
test.

CONTINUOUS IMPROVEMENT PROJECT IN NUMERACY

TITLE: PROJECT DIAMOND, EVERY LEARNER IS PRECIOUS!

RATIONALE:
The project is designed to develop the ability of Grade 3 learners in numeracy,
particularly in the four fundamental operations. It is a project designed for
struggling learners to learn how to read 3 - 6 digits, compute basic operations
and solve simple problem solving involving 2 operations. It is composed of
different strategies that can help them to master reading numbers, solving
problem with basic operations for their level.

PURPOSE OF THE PROJECT:

To decrease the number of intervention and become consolidation in Rapid
Mathematical Assessment in Grade 3. Everything around us involves
Mathematics, everything around us is numbers. With the cooperation of parents,
learners and teachers numbers are easy to understand.

FOCUSED PROBLEM:
180 out of 228 learners in Grade 3 were identified under intervention during the
pre-test on Rapid Mathematical Assessment for school year 2023-2024.

OBJECTIVE STATEMENT:
To attain 58 % or 106 out of 180 Grade 3 learners (intervention) to become
consolidation by April 2024.

RESULT:
There were 90 learners or 50% from the target 180 learners who were identified
under for intervention learners during the pre- test became consolidation/
enhancement learners in numeracy at the end of school year. The target result
of 106 learners or 58% out of 180 learners to become for consolidation/
enhancement learners in numeracy meet. The official result shows positive
feedback and is a good indication that the program is effective despite of the
difficulties in providing remediation and actual implementation of the program
due to different circumstances in learning delivery.
