Code of Professional Conduct

Responsibility:
Principal in each Academic Stage.

Rationale:
Due to the diversity and multiplicity of stakeholders in our school community such as
faculty, staff, volunteers and contractors, we have worked to provide a safe and positive
teaching-learning environment in order to safeguard and promote the welfare of all
enrolled students.

Purpose:
Forming written guidelines of behavior that enhance positive responses in adults when
dealing with children and between each other, and thus reduce the opportunities of the
negative responses in the work team.

Objectives:
1. Creating a secure environment to provide appropriate learning opportunities.
2. Treating the negative behavioral phenomena in the school environment.
3. Building a behavioral rule to be the basis of compatible behavior with the teachings
of our great religion.
4. Serving as a guiding compass for Employees to steer an ethical and respectful course
through their career in teaching.
5. Providing clear scientific mechanisms to deal with behavioral phenomena.
6. Avoiding personal judgments in the remedy of behavioral phenomena.
7. Establishing the principles of justice and equality in the school community.
8- Establishing positive habits and behavior among staff derived from understanding
and applying theories of behavior, education, and psychology.

Directions:
1. The relevant parties shall abide by the implementation of the policy provisions as
contained in their document.
2. Student counselors are committed to formulating positive guidelines and behaviors.
3. The relevant parties are committed to publish the policy among the stakeholders in
Al-Bassam Schools.
4. Continuous cooperation between all concerned parties in achieving good behaviors
and intimate relationships.
5. In cases where the policy is not provided, it is the responsibility of senior
management to decide on them.

Implementation Procedures:

1. Employees should take all reasonable steps and do great efforts with regard to the
care of students under their supervision to ensure their safety and welfare.

2. Employees should work within the framework of relevant policies, regulations,


procedures, and guidelines which aim to promote student education and welfare and
child protection.

3. Employees should report, where appropriate, incidents or matters which impact on


student welfare.

4. Employees should communicate effectively with students, colleagues, parents, school


management and others in the school community. They should be characterized by a
professional, collaborative, supportive and respectful way.

5. Employees should ensure that any communication with students, colleagues, parents,
school management and others is appropriate, including communication via electronic
media, such as e-mail, texting and social networking sites.

6. Employees should ensure that they do not knowingly access, download, or otherwise
have in their possession while engaged in school activities, inappropriate
materials/images in electronic or other formats. Also, they should make sure that their
means of technology or media does not contain any inappropriate content during their
school activity.

7. Employees should contribute to building a positive creative environment that


encourages students and their parents to participate in the teaching-learning process as
active and responsible members so as to contribute to developing lifelong learning
skills.

8. Employees should develop teaching, learning and assessment strategies that support
differentiated instruction in a way that respects the dignity of all students.

9. Employees should work with teaching colleagues and student to support good
practice and maintain the highest quality of educational experiences for students.

10. Employees should work in a collaborative manner with students, parents/guardians,


school management, other members of staff and the wider school community, as
appropriate, in seeking to effectively meet the needs of students.

11. Employees should engage with the planning, implementation and evaluation of
curriculum at classroom and school level.

12. Employees should acknowledge and respect the uniqueness, individuality and
specific needs of students and promote their holistic development.

13. Employees should be committed to equality and inclusion and to respecting and
accommodating diversity including those differences arising from gender, civil status,
family status, religion, age, disability, race, ethnicity.

14. Employees should work to establish and maintain a culture of mutual trust and
respect in their schools.

15. Employees should act with honesty and integrity in all aspects of their work.

16. Employees should respect the privacy of others and the confidentiality of
information gained in the course of professional practice.

17. Employees should represent themselves, their professional status, qualifications and
experience honestly.

18. Employees should avoid conflict between their professional work and private
interests which could reasonably be deemed to impact negatively on students.

Conclusion:
We are confident that the employees of Al-Bassam Campus are responsible and keen
to adhere to the quality standards covered all areas of work in the leading institutions
and according to the requirements of academic accreditation. Therefore, we call upon
all to support the direction of the institution with scientific methodology and abide by
the Code of Professional Conduct for Employees in Al-Bassam Schools.

These guidelines have been approved by the Educational Board team on 17/05/2020.
