Course Overview: Course Objectives:

Recommended Teaching and Learning Methods

 Pair Work and Group Activities: Encouraging students to practice speaking with their peers in a supportive environment.

Recommended Teaching Materials:


 Flashcards: For vocabulary and phonics. Hold up a flashcard and ask students to run to the correct picture or match it with a
corresponding word. Additionally, use flashcards to play “Flashcard Race”, where two teams race to pick the correct card
based on a description.
 Worksheets: Tracing letters, matching activities, coloring exercises
 Songs & Rhymes: Age-appropriate songs to help with vocabulary retention
 Interactive Resources: Games, puzzles, and digital resources, e.g Hot Seat: One student sits with their back to the board
while the teacher or a peer writes a vocabulary word. The class gives clues, and the student guesses the word.
 Storybooks: Simple English storybooks to aid comprehension

Class Structure (45-60 minutes per class)


1. Warm-up Activity (5-10 mins): Songs or greetings to set the tone for the lesson
2. Introduction of New Vocabulary (10 mins): Flashcards, visuals, or songs to introduce new words
3. Practice through Games/Activities (15-20 mins): Interactive games or role-plays to use vocabulary in context
4. Story or Song (10 mins): A story, rhyme, or song that reinforces the theme of the day
5. Closing and Homework (5-10 mins): Review of the lesson and assignment of a simple task (e.g., coloring, tracing words).
Assessment & Evaluation
 Ongoing Observation: Teachers will assess students’ participation, engagement, and ability to follow instructions.
 End of Unit Assessment: Informal oral quizzes or worksheets to evaluate vocabulary retention
 End of Course Evaluation: A simple oral test where students demonstrate the vocabulary and phrases they’ve learned
