NARRATIVE REPORT
Title: My Internship Journey at Philippine Airlines: Navigating the Skies of Experience

Internships serve as a crucial bridge between theoretical knowledge and practical experience,
providing students with a glimpse into the inner workings of their chosen industry. My internship at
Philippine Airlines (PAL), which took place from August 23 to October 10, 2023, was a transformative
journey filled with learning opportunities and meaningful contributions. In this narrative report, I will
recount my experiences, responsibilities, and personal growth during this eight-week period.

Week 1: Orientation and Onboarding

The first week of my internship was marked by the completion of essential administrative tasks.
On August 23, 2023, I submitted my medical certificate, a requirement for all PAL interns. I also
initiated the process of obtaining an access pass from the Security Department, which would grant me
an official PAL identification.

At the HR Admin office, I ensured that all necessary requirements were meticulously
completed. This phase of the onboarding process was crucial in solidifying my position within the PAL
organization.

The week also included a comprehensive orientation and facility tour conducted by the HR
Recruitment team. This orientation gave me insights into PAL's history, mission, and core values. It
was here that I began to feel like a part of the PAL family.

Additionally, within the Flight Technical Division, where I would be based for the internship, I
participated in welcome and onboarding activities. These sessions introduced me to the scope of my
work and the responsibilities I would undertake during my internship.

On August 24, my practical contributions commenced as I provided assistance in updating the

service units of iPads issued to pilots. Specifically, I focused on those iPads reported as inoperative or
damaged. Concurrently, I scanned the accountability forms issued to the pilots, ensuring accurate
record-keeping.

Week 2: Building Foundations

The second week saw my involvement in the development of critical databases within PAL. I
worked on establishing a comprehensive database for the pocket Wi-Fi devices to be issued to Captains
across all Equipment Divisions. This project required meticulous attention to detail and organization.

On August 30, I took on additional responsibilities, including labeling CDs and USBs for the
Nav Database, preparing QRH binders for rotation copies to be loaded onboard A321 aircraft, and
providing briefings related to Route Analysis preparations. These tasks contributed to the smooth
operations of the airline and required thoroughness and precision.

Week 3: The Pocket Wi-Fi Project

Week 3 marked my involvement in the Pocket Wi-Fi project. I played a crucial role in assigning
pocket Wi-Fis and SIM Cards to Captains. Additionally, I was responsible for updating and expanding
the database to include SIM card numbers. My attention to detail was vital in preparing labels for these
devices, ensuring control numbers were accurate.
 On September 5, I placed control numbers on pocket Wi-Fi devices, assisted in issuing pocket
Wi-Fi to Captains, and updated the database to reflect issued devices. This project underscored the
importance of efficient data management within the organization.

Week 4: Consistency and Responsiveness

Week 4 began with a continuation of my duties from the previous week. I provided ongoing
assistance in issuing pocket Wi-Fi devices, ensuring the database was meticulously updated. My
responsibilities expanded to addressing pilot concerns and forwarding them to the relevant personnel
for resolution. Additionally, I was entrusted with reproducing accountability forms for issuance to
Captains and updating iPad service units.

Week 5: Sustained Dedication

Week 5 saw me sustain my responsibilities from the previous week. I continued to assist in the
issuance of pocket Wi-Fi devices, diligently updating the database, and addressing pilot concerns. This
period emphasized the importance of consistent communication and support within the organization.

Week 6: Broadening Expertise

During the sixth week, I contributed to establishing the pocket Wi-Fi database, assisted in
issuing devices, and continued to address pilot concerns. I also took on responsibilities such as labeling
CDs and USBs for the Nav Database, preparing QRH binders, and providing briefings on Route
Analysis preparations.

Week 7: Sustaining Momentum

The seventh week saw the continuation of my duties from the previous week. I maintained my
involvement in the issuance of pocket Wi-Fi devices, diligently updating the database, and addressing
pilot's concerns. These tasks showcased the importance of consistent communication and support
within the organization.

Week 8: A Journey's End

The final week of my internship was marked by a culmination of my responsibilities in the

Pocket Wi-Fi project. I continued to assist in issuing pocket Wi-Fi devices, ensuring the database was
updated accurately. This journey had fortified my skills in data management and problem-solving.

My internship at Philippine Airlines was a transformational experience that allowed me to delve

into the world of aviation and contribute to the organization's success. It highlighted the importance of
attention to detail, organization, and effective communication in a professional setting. I am immensely
grateful for the mentorship and guidance provided by the PAL team, which contributed significantly to
my personal and professional growth.

As I conclude this chapter of my internship, I look forward to applying the knowledge and skills
I have gained to future endeavors in my career. This journey has not only enhanced my passion for
aviation but has also instilled in me a strong sense of professionalism and commitment that will guide
me in my future pursuits.
