Megan Rapinoe is an American professional soccer player and a prominent activist for
social justice. Born on July 5, 1985, in Redding, California, she is known for her role as
a winger on the U.S. Women’s National Soccer Team (USWNT), where she gained

and off the field.
Megan Anna Rapinoe grew up in a large family in Northern California, where she
developed her soccer skills. She played college soccer at the University of Portland
