Sevcon Software - DVT


• Gen4 motor controllers are highly configurable
• They can be configured with the PC software Device Verification Tool (DVT)
• An IXXAT USB to CAN Interface V2 is required to facilitate communication
between a PC and a Gen4 motor controller. No other brand or device will
work.

Downloading, Installing, and


Activating DVT
DVT requires a license which we can supply. The license is per computer so
it recommended that you install it on a laptop for portability. The license
isn’t transferable if the computer it is installed on is formatted or damaged.

The process to download, install, and activate DVT is as follows:

1. Download the latest version of DVT from here.


1. Full Version
2. Update Only
3. DVT Manual
2. Install DVT on your PC (including the IXXAT drivers if they are not
already installed)

3. Open the software and you will be prompted with two options, select
Step 1 to generate an activation key

4. Fill out the license request.

5. Copy the activation data and send it via email to


[email protected]. It usually takes around 1-2
business days for a licence request to be activated.

6. Once you've received your licence file save it in the same folder as
you installed DVT (usually C:\BorgWarner\). Do not change the
name of the licence file
7. Open DVT and select Step 2. Choose the license.dat file from step 6

8. You have now activated DVT
