The main idea of the oral presentation is to let the end
listeners know what is important. Oral presentations can
be interesting, especially if you want people to remember
what you said. Yet another type of oral presentation is the
one that is designed to inspire and motivate. The main
goal is to convince. You are going to make an oral
presentation for some reason and you will have your
ultimate goal in mind.
The excellent body language of the presentation plays a
big role in so many ways. Shows high status. That is, the
audience feels like they have something worth listening to.
A good presentation posture will also improve voice
generation and projection, so you don't have to scream to
say anything. Confident body language allows you to
convey your message clearly during your presentation
without confusing your audience. A good body language
during the presentation will help you increase credibility,
draw the attention of your audience to your point, and
build connections and trust with your audience. Believe it
or not, smiles are the most powerful tool in body language.
So, the next time you give a presentation, don't forget to
smile from time to time. Not only does it look familiar to
the audience, it also relieves stress.
If you can stand upright physically, be sure to stand up in
the next lecture. Amy Cuddy, a professional speaker,
shows that if you need to show authority with confidence
in your presentation, the Power Pose can help you build
authority.
Another quick tip is to make use of the stage. Instead of
standing still, move around the stage. By doing so, this
sends a message to your audience that you are
comfortable on your skin and that you have a strong belief
in your subject. Confront nervousness. Practicing your
speech before giving a presentation is a good way to
make your speech fun and help your audience understand
you.
When giving a presentation, maintain eye contact and
face the audience. This makes you feel like you're talking
directly and makes the presentation interesting. Many of
us are nervous when speaking in front of an audience.
Find familiar faces of the audience during the presentation
and look at them as you speak. Tell the audience in
advance when you will be taking questions. Anticipate
questions in advance. Check-in with the questioner after
you have given your response.
