Visa Turkey-Kenya
1. Kenyan citizens holding an ordinary (non-official) passport need a visa to enter Turkey.
The visa must be obtained before leaving Kenya.
If you are holder of a Kenyan ordinary (non-official) passport and have a valid visa or
residence permit from from either one of the Schengen countries, the USA, the United
Kingdom or Ireland and you also fulfil the other requirements, you may apply for an
electronic visa, without coming to the Embassy. Please read our note titled “Electronic visa”
to confirm if you are eligible for this type of visa.
If you are not eligible for electronic visa, then your visa application must be prepared and
submitted as described herein below.
2. Submitting a visa application does not guarantee automatic issuance of a visa. The
Embassy needs to examine your application and only after then can decide about your visa.
You are kindly advised to take this into account when making your travel arrangements
and/or buying your ticket.
In case you have bought your plane ticket before obtaining your visa, this is a personal risk
you have taken and will not constitute any guarantee for the issuance of the visa, nor for
speeding up the visa procedures.
3. Visa processing takes a minimum of 5 working days but this period can be longer
depending on the visa type and/or the volume of demand for visas at the time of
application.
In exceptional situations where the approval of the Ministry of Interior in Turkey is needed,
the visa processing period may extend to 2 to 6 weeks.
Therefore, it is advised to submit applications as far ahead of the intended travel date as
possible. Turkey does not have an “expedited/express visa” system.
4. The Embassy receives visa applications on weekdays between 09.00 and 12.00. All the
visa applications should be made online and before coming to the Embassy, through the
website: www.visa.gov.tr
5. At the time of online application, the applicant is expected to obtain an e-appointment for
his/her visa interview. The applicant will then be required to visit the consular section of the
Embassy in person, on the specified appointment date and time. The printed originals of all
documents uploaded to the system during online application must be brought to the
Embassy at the time of the interview.

7. The visa fee is payable in cash (USD) and shall be paid on the appointment date. The
visa fee will not be refunded if the application is not successful. Single entry visa fee: 60
USD and Multiple entry: 200 USD.
9. If you are not a citizen of the Republic of Kenya, you must have a valid work and/or
residence permit from Kenya to be able to submit a visa application to our Embassy.
Please send an e-mail to [email protected] or call (+254)20 712 69 29/30 to
obtain the necessary information, before coming to our Embassy.
10. There are specific rules for minors (below 18 years of age). Please refer to our relevant
note.
If the visa officer deems necessary to assess the application, the Embassy may
ask for additional documents related to your travel at any point in the visa
application process.
1. Visa Application form filled in English on the website www.visa.gov.tr and personally
signed by the applicant.
2. Valid passport and its copy / Valid at least 60 days longer than the expiry date of the
requested visa / Containing at least 1 page with both sides empty.
3. If you have been to Turkey before, previous passports or old residence permits in
Turkey / Optional but advisable to submit.
4. Recently taken 2 passport-size (5x5 cm) biometric photos, with white background,
attached to the application form
5. Kenyan ID card and its copy
6. Health insurance covering the whole duration of your stay in Turkey
As per the relevant Turkish legislation, all foreigners applying for a short-term visa to Turkey
are required to submit a valid medical insurance covering the duration of their visa.
As per the relevant Turkish legislation, our Embassy does not have any authority to grant
exemption from the medical insurance requirements listed above, during visa applications.
7. Original copy of the invitation letter from the company in Turkey / Written in Turkish
on official company paper with stamp, signature, date, and addressed to the Embassy.
Should include your name, passport number and position in the company you work in Kenya,
the purpose and duration your visit, as well as who will bear the costs of the visit. It should be
signed and sealed by the manager of the Turkish company. The name and title of the person
signing the invitation letter must be visible.
Company’s specimen of signature(s) must be attached to the invitation letter.
This letter must be sent DIRECTLY TO OUR EMBASSY by the company in Turkey,
via surface mail, e-mail ([email protected]) or fax (+254-20-712 69 31)
8. Original copy of the letter from the relevant company in Kenya / In English on official
company paper with stamp, signature, date / Indicating the purpose and duration of the visit,
name of the company in Turkey with which business talks will be conducted, who will bear
costs of the visit, together with details about the applicant (name, position in the company,
passport number).
9. Business documents of your company in Kenya e.g. Permit, Memorandum,
Certificate of Incorporation, Certificate of Registration
10. Payslips or certified bank statements of the applicant for the last three months
11. Certified Bank statements of the company in Kenya for the last three months
12. FOR NON-KENYAN CITIZENS: Copies of your valid residence and work permit
in Kenya
13) Return flight reservation / It is advisable that the ticket is bought after the visa has
been issued.
14) Hotel reservation / Submit all reservations if you will stay in more than one city in
Turkey, etc.
