User Manual of ADEL Multi-relay Elevator Controller

Ⅰ. Overview

The main function of ADEL elevator controller management system is to enhance the hotel
security, administrate elevator use in specific regions, save energy, extend the service lifetime of
elevator, and reduce misuse and empty running. ADEL elevator controller used with ADEL lock
management software reduces the procedure of repeated card-issuing. It’s available to use a card
after being issued once. Besides, relevant permissions to open the door will be performed
according to card type.

Main control board of ADEL elevator controller provides output signal of control switch for
16 floors. After swiping card, main control board will send 16-floor signal to elevator and activate
the elevator to run. Besides, elevator controller can maximum the floor amount to 255 through
expansion, and the expansion bus is RS485. If the floor number is less than 16, it’s unnecessary to
expand.

The following functions can be achieved through elevator controller:

a. automatically identify the user’s permission to prevent illegal entry;


b. store the user’s successful operation record;
c. when elevator is closed, guests can use the elevator by card to reach permissive floor.

Ⅲ. Principle and Structure

ADEL elevator controller consists of main control board, switching power supply, reader, card
and other accessories. There are master card, foreman card, maid card, floor card, guest card etc.
in a hotel lock system, and different card has different floor permission.

The elevator controller does not communicate with central controller of elevator itself. There
is no direct mutual control. Its function is to control the elevator floor buttons. Therefore, all the
original security features of the elevator itself are not affected.

Under normal circumstances, switching power supply and main control board are installed on
the elevator car top, and reader is installed in the elevator car. Cardholder swipes card when using
the elevator, the system selects specified floor by card privileges.

2. Controller Box Installation Drawing

Respectively, there are fourΦ6 screws and fourΦ4 screws， fourΦ6 screws fix steel bracket on
the controller box，other fourΦ4 screws the controller box on the elevator car top.

Note: Gap of controller box and the elevater car top must be greater than 10 mm，to heat。

Ⅵ. Setting elevator controller

1. Software Setting

1.1 Floor Area Setting


In floor area setting, tick the option of “elevator control” for every floor.

Note: Code is corresponding to each contact position of elevator controller. See as follows

1.2 System Parameter Setting


Tick “card model to open elevator controller”. Note: Master card and emergency card are
default cards to open elevator controller.

Ⅶ. Elevator Controller Usage

1. Card Description
Master card: can open all floors
Maid card: can open all floors
Foreman card: can open all floors
Floor card: only reach designated floor
Guest card: only reach designated floor
Emergency card: the lock will be in passage mode after swiping card (keep beeping for alarm).

Floors can be selected without swiping card, which will be canceled and resumed to normal
status after swiping a valid card.

Meeting card: the lock will be in passage mode after swiping card. Floors can be selected
without swiping a card, which will be canceled and resumed to normal status after swiping a valid
card.

2. Time setting

Elevator controller can set up passage mode for a certain time period by resetting layer card
(with opening time period).For instance, using elevator without swiping card from 8am to 8pml
can be sue up. For other time, swiping card is required to select floor.

Note: Reissue Layer Card (without selecting Auto Opening) and set up elevator controller for
cancellation.

3. Emergency setting

Cut off the switching power supply to stop the working of elevator controller when it’s needed.
