Difficulty: Advanced Beginner

Finished Size: 6” /15cm wide and 4.5” /11.5cm tall

Materials needed:

 5 mm (H) size hook (I used Solar Flare Streamline by Furls)

 76-80 grams, 96-98 yards/88-93 metres of Aran/Worsted weight yarn for the pumpkin (I used
Scheepjes Chunky Monkey in Deep Orange shade) and 2-3 grams, 5-6 yards/4-5 metres of
Aran/Worsted weight yarn for the vine (I used Scheepjes Chunky Monkey in Pine shade)
 Yarn needle for sewing and weaving in ends
 Scissors
 A small piece of twig for the stem
 Filling/Stuffing (approx. 30 grams)

Stitches Used and Abbreviations:

CH = chain
ST/STS = stitch/stitches
RS = right side
WS= wrong side
SC = single crochet
TR = treble crochet
[ ] = used to repeat a longer set of instructions between these brackets, the number of times given

Gauge: not critical for this project but may affect the yarn quantities required

Additional notes:

 If a row starts with a CH 1, that is not counted as a stitch.

 US terms used throughout
 At the end of every row, there’s going to be a note with the stitch count, so you can keep
track of your work easily and avoid any mistakes. It’s written in a different color in bold
 Notes are written in a different color in (brackets) to help you through the pattern.
 You can start each row as I did in the pattern or you can use a standing stitch or chains, it’s
totally up to you!
 You can easily adjust the size of your pumpkin: the starting chain should be multiples of
4+4 chains

Finishing:

Bring the two short sides together, the WS should be outside. Sew the two sides together (Pic 1),
then flip it inside out. Stitch a running stitch along the bottom edge of your pumpkin and pull to cinch
closed (Pic 2). Pull it really tight, then stitch a couple of times around to keep it closed and fasten off.
(I usually go from one side to another a couple of times. I have created a video to show how I sew my
ends in which might be helpful: https://youtu.be/F3VkG1qTPLw)

Fill it with stuffing but make sure you don’t stuff it really tight (Pic 3). Stitch a running stitch along the
top edge of your pumpkin (Pic 4) and pull the top closed but leave a small opening, secure and fasten
off, then put your twig into the hole (Pic 5).

The Vine:

To start: CH 25

Row 1: 2 SC into the 2nd CH from the hook, 2 SC in each CH to end

(48 SC)
Fasten off, leave a small tail.

As you have two small tails on the same side of the vine, just simply tie the vine onto the twig.
