Introduction
There is no agreement what community work is. But it can be defined in simplest way as
being involved in groups or associations, being a volunteer or unpaid worker, being
involved in a non-profit, not for profit or charitable organization or association. It is also
something as doing public interest or public benefit work.

For the requirement of completion of Bachelor’s degree, I decided to do my community


work at ‘Shalaan & GL (KHM-Consultancy) Overseas Employment visa Agency’ under
the supervision of “Mr. Waqar Ahmed”, operation manager of this office.

I made an effort to contribute my services to the community. I volunteered as an unpaid


worker where I provided my services as an office worker. The office is situated almost in
urban area. During the community work period, I tried my best and with full courage to
do my work. I worked there for 20 hours (4 days) as per the requirement of my degree.

About the Organization


The full name of the organization is Shalaan & GL (KHM-Consultancy) Overseas
Employment Visa Agency, Rawalpindi. It is situated at the Choti Market Rd, B-Block
Block B Satellite Town, Punjab, 46300. This visa agency is committed to excellence in

Working Days

05th January, 2024 was my first day of community work at the office. I reached there at
sharp 9:00 am. I went to the general manager office, he welcomed me in their office and
gave a brief introduction of their organization. Then an operation manager who helped me
a lot during community work, gave me a brief introduction of other staff members and
visited me the whole office. Then he took me to the cabin room and told me about my
working schedule and tasks, which I had to perform during my service. Following are the
tasks which I had to perform during the four days of service.

DAY 1

I reached at 9:00 am. The operation manager gave me the task of ‘DOCUMENT
SCANNING’ of the candidates applied for work visa.

DAY 2

I reached there at time. The operation manager gave me the task of ‘PREPARING
CANDIDATE DATA’ in excel format.

DAY 3

I reached there at same time. The operation manager gave me the task of ‘VISA
DOCUMENTATAION’ of 20 candidates.

DAY 4

On the final day of my volunteer experience, I took the time to reflect on my journey and
gather feedback from office staff regarding my contributions. This feedback will be
invaluable in identifying areas for improvement and further development. Additionally, I
expressed my gratitude to the office staff for their guidance and mentor-ship throughout
my time at ‘Shalaan & GL Overseas Employment Visa Agency’

Conclusion

In conclusion, my four-day volunteering experience at Shalaan & Gl was immensely


rewarding and eye-opening (pun intended). I must say that working for this organization
was a great addition to my learning, knowledge and experience. Moreover, my
communication skills improved a lot. In short, it can be said that it was a great experience
that molded my personality in a constructive way and changed my views about the world
to a significant extent.
