ANALOG
MODULATION
refers to the process of transferring an analog
baseband (low frequency) signal, like an audio or
TV signal over a higher frequency signal such as a
radio frequency band.
Where AM , FM , and PM are used to encode a
carrier signal.
Digital Modulation

Digital modulation is a technique used in telecommunications to

transmit digital information (data) over an analog medium, such
as radio waves or a telephone line.
In digital modulation, the properties of a carrier signal, such as
its amplitude, frequency, or phase, are altered to represent
digital data (bits: 0s and 1s). It is widely used in applications
such as wireless communication, digital television, and data
transmission systems.
Example:
Single Carrier Modulation
- Single Carrier Modulation is a method of
transmitting information over a
communication channel by modulating a
single carrier frequency. In this technique, the
information signal modulates one carrier
wave, which is then transmitted over the
channel.
EXAMPLES:

Radio Satellite Early Celular

Broadcasting Communication Networks
Multi-Carrier Modulation (MCM)
A technique used in digital communications
to transmit data more efficiently and reliably
over a given channel. It is widely used in
various applications, including wireless
networks, digital television, and broadband
internet.
PULSE
MODULATION
its a type of modulation in which the
signal is transmitted in the form of
pulses. It can be used to transmit
analogue information. In pulse
modulation, continuous signals are
sampled at regular intervals
SPREAD SPECTRUM
MODULATION
Spread Spectrum Communications is a modulation technique
that protects message signals from interference and jamming by
spreading the original narrow-band signal over a wide range of
frequencies using an independent wide-band code signal. This
technique ensures secure communication and reduces the
probability of signal detection.
