Background
When you want to replace an Engine in a machine it’s important that you use Tech Tool and run the operation 17095-3 “Handle
Component”, this to avoid issues with software and downtime for the machine.
Action
At the Office ( For CEA2+ )
1. Start Tech Tool and connect to central systems if not already done.
2. Go to Tech Tool menu and select “Administrate software new”.
3. Write in the chassis ID and click search.
4. On the tab “Software” check mark the Engine Control Module (EMS).
5. Select the order alternative “Update control unit with new software” and click “Send Order”.
6. When there is newer software available the download of the software will start immediately. When there is no newer
software a message will be shown with the information that there is no newer software available. When there is no
newer software select to download the same software as already in the machine.
7. Go to the “Stored software” tab to verify that the software is downloaded.
8. Close the tab “Administrate Software New” and close Tech Tool before traveling to the machine.
