interchangeable. Generators are rated for


30/45 KVA at 115/200 volts and are capable
with furnishing three-phases, 400Hz,
alternating current.

DC BUS TIE CURRENT LIMITER.
Rated to 100 ampere. Current limiters are fuses.
Each fuse is rated to 60 ampere.
Excessive amperage melts the metal
and opens the circuit that goes
across the current limiter. 7
GENERATOR CONTROL UNIT
(GCU)

Maintains voltage regulation at 115 V.

Provides under frequency protection 85% - 89% RPMR dependent


on ac power demands. Will discontinue main generator output
when any three-phase is between 95-105 VAC or less for more
than 1 second.

Will discontinue main generator output flow anytime voltage is


between 124-126 VAC or greater.

Will discontinue main generator output flow during ground


operations with WOW switched activated, main rotor % RPMR %
or less and the frequency output is 370-380 Hz or less for more to
1-3 seconds.

Will discontinue main generator output flow when an excessive


current differential is detected between A, B, and C phases of
generator operations.

EXTERNAL POWER MONITOR PANEL

Monitors the external ac input power for correct phase rotation,


over and under voltage protection, also over and under
frequency (HZ) protection on the ground.

Will discontinue external power input flow when voltage output is


125 – 130 VAC or greater.

Will discontinue external power input flow when the frequency


output is 370 – 375 Hz or less.

Will discontinue external power input flow when the frequency


out put is 425 -430 Hz or greater.

External power input will be stopped when phase rotation is


incorrect. Normal phase rotation is A, B, and C. If ground power
unit is not wired correctly or has a malfunction while providing
power, the external power monitor will current flow to prevent
damage to the aircraft electrical system.

The two 200 amp converters are cooled with internal fans and converts 115 VAC, three phase, 400 Hz, to
28 VDC. The #1 primary bus is powered by the #1 converter and the #2 primary bus is powered by the
#2 converter. The DC Essential Bus is powered by the #1 DC Primary Bus

SEALED LEAD ACID BATTERY
(SLAB)

Battery relay
K7

The Sealed Lead Acid Battery (SLAB) provides power to


the Battery Bus and the DC Essential Bus when no AC
electrical power is supplied to the helicopter. The Battery
Bus controls APU starting on the ground and in flight if both
AC generators fail. When the battery utility bus drops
below 23 volts, the BATT LOW CAPSULE light will

The desired pitch and roll attitude may be established in one of three ways.
1. Pressing the stick trim switch to slew the reference attitude to the desire attitude.
2. Pressing the trim release switch, manually flying the helicopter and releasing the trim switch.
3. Overriding the stick trim forces to establish the desire trim condition and then neutralizing the stick
forces by means of the trim switch.
