Firecrackers and other Pyrotechnic Devices
VIII. Strategies, Action Points and Timeline
• Conduct surveillance and monitoring of accidents and injuries to identify trends,
causes, and risk factors.
•Strengthen emergency response systems to ensure timely and effective medical
care for injured individuals.
•Conduct a baseline study on accidents and injuries in Zamboanga City to identify
trends, causes, and risk factors.
•Develop a comprehensive accident and injury prevention plan in consultation with
stakeholders.
•Baseline study: January-March 2023
•Development of comprehensive accident and injury prevention plan: April-June
2023
•Implementation of safety education and awareness campaigns: July-September
2023
IX. Program Accomplishments and Status
• Injury Surveillance System: The DOH established an injury surveillance system to
monitor and track accident and injury cases in Zamboanga City.
• Establishment of Emergency Medical Services (EMS) System: The DOH in
Zamboanga established an EMS system that responds to emergency calls and
provides pre-hospital care to accident and injury victims.
• Public Education Campaigns: The DOH conducted public education campaigns on
accident and injury prevention, focusing on road safety, fire safety, and drowning
prevention.

The Accident and Injury Prevention Program of the Department of Health (DOH) in
Zamboanga City is a control program aimed at preventing accidents and injuries in
the city.
Vision

A Zamboanga free from accidents and injuries, where individuals can live, work, and

Empowering the community through evidence-based injury prevention strategies to


reduce morbidity and mortality from accidents and injuries, ultimately promoting a
