Y oculta la comadreja, pudo juzgar el asombro y la ira de la mondadora
al ver aquella bandeja casi limpia del contenido. Y la oyó exclamar: «¡Ah,
si pudiera dar con el ladrón! ¡No pueden ser más que esos malditos ratones
que infestan la casa desde que se murió el gato! ¡Como pillase á uno, le
haría pagar las culpas de todos los otros!»
Cuando la comadreja oyó estas palabras, se dijo: «Es necesario, para

bandeja, en donde brillaba el sésamo esplendente y mondado. Y se llenó
glotonamente la boca. Pero en aquel instante salió la mujer de detrás de la
puerta, y de un palo hendió la cabeza del ratón.
