A.S.S.U.R.E LESSON PLAN
Subject Matter: 21st Century
Topic: Effective Communication
Time Duration: 60 minutes

Students Characteristics:
 The lesson is designed for the grade 11 students of section Newton
with the age of 17-25 years old consisting of 27 female students
and 24 male students. These students have the capacity of using
the effective communication.
 The student behavior in terms of communication involves the
Analyze clarity on how they express their thought and ideas clearly,
Learners listening were they actively listen to others and responding
appropriately, the tone, vocabulary, confidence, body language,
eye contact and facial expression.
Learning Style:
 Most of the student in the class prefer charts, videos to help
reinforce concepts, engage in discussion and providing activities.
 The learning materials that will be used in the class is a
PowerPoint

At the end of the period/lesson the students will be able to:


 Define clearly the 2 effective communication skills through the

Objectives  Distinguishing the different between the 2 effectives
communication.
 Determine the value of the 2 effective communication strategies
and perform it accurately.

Method:
 The teacher will use the learner-centered and subject-centered
strategy to be able to produce an interactive approach way of
teaching.

Materials and Technology:
 The teacher will use visual materials which is laptop and
television to present the topic.
Prepare the materials:
 Laptop, television and the PowerPoint presentation will be
checked to check the appropriateness of the content to the class
topic. And to see if it is accessible for the teachers.

Prepare the environment:


 The materials for the projection of the students will be placed in
the front of the students.
 The chairs will be arranged accordingly so that the students will
have a conductive classroom for learning.
 The other related things such as electricity and proper ventilation
will also be prepared to make the classroom more conductive for
learning.
Prepare for learners:
Utilize Media  The learning objectives will be presented to the students from the

 Students are expected to participate and engage students during
class prior to interactive teaching strategies to foster student
communications strategies.
 The learners’ participating is highly needed for the game activity
before the proper discussion.
Students are expected to participate in both individual and group activity.
The lesson is made to engage students during class discussion and
activities at the end of the topic.

Individual discussion/Oral Recitation:


I. Before proceeding to the proper class discussion. The teacher
will facilitate a game called “CHARADES CHAT” is a game
that combines verbal and non-verbal communication
strategies, requiring participants to act out a word or phrase
without speaking, then explain their reasoning. Prizes will be
given to the students who will win the game.
II. After the discussion, in order to develop the student
communication and critical thinking skills the teacher will ask
the following questions:
Require  What is topic all about?
Learner  Can you give examples about the topic?
Participants  What they have learned about the topic?
III. After the discussion teacher will ask questions. An exam or
quiz which is compose of 15 items. This is to evaluate
if the students really understand the topic.
Group activity:
IV. After the discussion the students will be grouped by
accordingly to see if they have learned something on the
discussion. This will help the students reasoning and making
their best effective communication strategies.
V. After doing the activity the students will present their playin
front of the class.

Evaluate and
Revise The students will be assessed through the following:
 Identification Test
- This will test the critical thinking of the students with
regards to the topic.

 Performance Task
- This will measure how far is the students’ knowledge
about the topic and applying it to their communication
skills in a best way.
- This type of assessment will be graded through the
criteria:
CONTENT- 15%
PRESENTATION- 25%
CREATIVENESS-40%
TIMELINESS-10%
TOTAL- 90%
At the end of the discussion, oral activity and group activity, there will be
a feedbacking which allows the students and teachers to interact. Also the
students can ask questions to the teacher and teacher giving comments to
the performance of the students is a must. This will help to make things
clearer and improve.
Revised:
 The effectiveness of the teacher will be determined through the
result of the student assessments. For revision, the topic strategies
and the instructional materials should be aligned to the objectives
and interest of the students.
