1. Personal Computer “Desktop”
a compact computer that uses a microprocessor and is designed for
individual use at a time, as by a person in an office or at home or
school, for such applications as word processing, data management,
financial analysis, or computer games. Abbreviation: PC.
• It’s heavy and occupies big space on your desktop.
• It needs power source always.
• Computer case or contains most computer
contents inside.
• It is not portable.
2. Laptop Computers
a small personal computer. They are designed to be more portable
than traditional desktop computers, with many of the same abilities.
Laptops are able to be folded flat for transportation and have a
built-in keyboard and touchpad with built in monitor and
rechargeable battery.
• It has a rechargeable battery.
• More expensive than a PC.
• It is a portable device.
3. Tablet Computers / Ipad
is a mobile device, typically with a mobile operating
system and touchscreen display processing circuitry, and
a rechargeable battery in a single, thin and flat package.
• It has a rechargeable battery.
• It has a touch screen.
• It comes in a thin, flat single package.
• It is amore portability portable device.
• ipad is the Apple edition of tablet computers with ios operating
system.
• Mostly come with Android or Windows Operating Systems.
4. Server Computers
is a computer that provides data to other computers. It may serve
data to systems on a local area network (LAN) or a wide area network
(WAN) over the Internet. database servers, file servers, mail
servers, print servers, web servers, game servers, and application
servers.
• Big size.
• It has powerful capabilities to serve other clients.
• It’s not a personal-use computer, it is used in
business and major computing jobs.
5. Super Computers
extremely powerful computers. The term is commonly applied to the
fastest high-performance systems available at any given time. Such
computers have been used primarily for scientific and engineering
work requiring high-speed computations.
• Big size.
• Too Expensive.
• Used for huge operations that require high
speed and complicated calculations.
• testing mathematical models, complex physical phenomena or
designs, such as climate and weather, evolution of
the astronomy, nuclear weapons and reactors, new chemical
compounds (especially for pharmaceutical purposes).
6. Personal Digital Assistance - PDA
is a term for a small, mobile, handheld device that provides
computing and information storage and retrieval capabilities
for personal or business use, often for keeping schedules, calendars
and address book information handy.
• Small portable size.
• Not widely used, smart phones/apps could replace
it’s job.
• Used to perform specific light jobs:
keeping schedules, global positioning system, run multimedia
software.
7. Apple Computers
Computers manufactured in hardware and software by US incident
company called: Apple.
• Macbook Air
• Macbook Pro
• IMac
• Apple Watch
• Ipad
• More compatible because Hardware and Software are
manufactured together.
• More expensive.
8. Smartphones
is a mobile device that combines cellular and mobile
computing functions into one unit.
• Video calls, voice calls and text messaging.
• Multimedia functionality (music, video, cameras, and gaming).
• Wireless communications (Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, or satellite navigation).
• Rechargeable Battery.
• Application markets for various interests and serve different areas.
• Most portable between computer types.
• Varies from cheap to expensive.
9. Hybrid Computers
is a computer that combines Tablet and laptop computer together.
• It can be used as a tablet with touch screen and built in keyboard.
• It can also be used as a laptop with physical keyboard.
• It combines between portability and a desktop computer.
• Rechargeable Battery.
10. Wearable Computers
is any small technological device capable of storing and processing
data that can be worn on the body.
• Smart Watch
• Smart Glasses
• Smart Clothes
They provide biometric data, such as
pulse rate, temperature, muscle stretch, heart
rhythm and physical movement,
and the data are transmitted via Bluetooth to
an app in real time.
