Come on England!

On Monday, we kicked off the UEFA European Championship excitement with a

special assembly. Our school community gathered to delve into the rich history of
the competition, explore some key players, relive the biggest upsets, and take a
virtual tour of the magnificent stadiums that will host the thrilling matches.
One of the highlights of the assembly was a lovely moment shared by Gurtej from
Year 3. Gurtej proudly showed us an amazing photo, accompanied by a message of
support for the England national team. His heartfelt words were so inspiring that
they were featured on the official social media channels of the national team!
Gurtej's optimism about England's chances in the tournament was infectious. He
confidently predicted that England would reach the final, squaring off against
France in what would promise to be a spectacular showdown. Idera also backed
England to win. While Harveer and Jotham felt it was more likely that Germany or
France come out on top.
As we gear up to cheer on our team, let's channel Gurtej's spirit and rally behind
England (or whichever team you support). Come on England! Let's make history!

Crab Maze

This week, Year 4 pupils put the finishing touches to their Crab Maze projects. After
weeks of hard work and dedication, the children proudly showcased their
creations, demonstrating impressive skills in coding, debugging, and teamwork.
The project began with the creation of a class algorithm, throughout the past
weeks, pupils diligently followed this algorithm, working collaboratively to bring
their games to life. It was a delight to witness the pupils' debugging skills in action
as they tackled challenges and refined their games.
An essential part of the project was the peer evaluation phase. Pupils had the
opportunity to play each other's games and offer constructive feedback.
The Crab Maze project has been a resounding success, and it’s clear that Year 4 has
developed a strong foundation in coding and teamwork. Well done, Year 4!

Art Showcase

This week has been the first week of our Art

showcases; a time to look at the children's
artwork from across the year and realise just
how many skills they have gained, how far
they have progressed, and how many
fantastic pieces they have created. It really
did look amazing to see all their artwork
displayed in one go... truly awe-inspiring!

A 'Wicked' Time for Year 6

Year 6 had a 'wicked' time on Wednesday

as they enjoyed their much-anticipated
mystery theatre trip to the West End. They
had a lovely lunch before the surprise was
revealed and they headed to the Apollo
Victoria to see the spectacular production
of Wicked.

What a fabulous treat for our soon-to-be

leavers!

A Step back in Time

Year 3 had a great time at Maidstone Museum on Thursday

this week.

The purpose of the trip was to deepen and extend the

children’s knowledge and understanding of the lives of the
Ancient Egyptian civilisation.

First, the children took part in a fun, hands-on lesson

learning all about the mummification process. They then
explored real and replica ancient Egyptian artifacts. It was
fascinating to hold amulets and shabtis from the past that
were over 3,000 years old! The highlight of the trip was
seeing Ta-Kush, a real Egyptian mummy who lived over
2,500 years ago! Incredible!

The Great Fire of London

On Thursday, the children in

Year 1 performed their class
assembly on the topic of The
Great Fire of London. The
children told the story of this
historical event by taking on the
roles of key figures. The children
sang beautifully and delivered
their lines with a level of
confidence that far exceeded
their age. Well done, Year 1 -
you should all feel very proud!

Ahoy

Year 2 have been learning sea

shanties in their English lessons this
week! The children collectively
thought of actions for their sea
shanty and have been dressing up as
pirates to get into character!
